Story

The Davis Automotive Group takes its roots back to Cleveland Heights, Ohio when it was acquired by Jeff Davis in 1991. The Group included Jaguar Cleveland, BMW Cleveland, Volvo Cleveland and Land Rover Cleveland at the time. In 1997 the Group moved to its present location in Solon, Ohio. Some changes came along with the move. The Volvo franchise was dissolved, and Land Rover Cleveland changed its name to Land Rover Solon. Due to exponential growth and success over the years, the facilities went through renovations in 2012 to accommodate the need for more space.

I hope it’s incompetence and not willful deceit. We had a horrible experience buying our 440 earlier this year and now the service is proving to be just as bad. The purchase process of the car was so bad, that by the end our sales person was following me out to the parking lot begging me not to leave any feedback rather than submitting an accurate score of what happened. Out of pure pity we didn’t complete the BMW survey - there was no way we were going to lie and give a decent score. The sales person knew nothing about the cars, and I had to correct him every step of the way. Right down to the pricing that “mysteriously” changed from what was agreed to what was presented in the paperwork. Luckily I was paying attention and I still hope the issues were unintentional incompetence and not as shady as it appeard. Today I brought my pride and joy roadster in for a simple oil change, same as I did last year. This year the price doubled. Why? Well, apparently I was undercharged last year. Also, my appointment has now changed, and I need to either wait for 2 and a half hours or pick it up Monday. They told me they shouldn’t have scheduled me when they did. Again, I have to pay for their incompetence. I declined and took my car - who knows what it might cost next year? My car needs special oil - how do I know if it was used or if the cheaper stuff was used last year? Even the tech advisor tried to tell me there were 2 engines in my model (there aren’t). He tried to get me to sign the quote saying maybe it would be cheaper. I wouldn’t sign anything and left with my car. It’s a shame that now we can neither buy new cars or service our two cars here. It’s a good thing there is another dealer in the area.

I’m currently at this dealership. I took my car for a regular service (1hr) and after paying I’ve waited another hour to have my car pulled up for me. I was at the dealer for a regular service for a total time of 2.5 hours (included half an hour of going though and payments). My reason for taking my car for a service to a dealer is because it saves me time. What they do in an hour (probably way less in reality) would take me about 2-3 hours of doing (labor+picking up parts etc.) what I want to say is that MY TIME IS VERY VALUABLE TO ME. All your clients time is valuable (I wasn’t the only one, I watched 2 other people struggle with the same problem and both were doctors meaning they have a busier schedule then I) This is a second time here and the first time it was a similar story. So please take this into consideration. But I’m not coming back and taking my business to another BMW dealer in the Cleveland area that can promise us to waste our time less.

Few years ago we took our older BMW for repairs, not only they overcharged, they broke something else. This year we took our newer car (since we purchased it there) for repairs, hoping the service has changed for good. They found at least 5 issues, quoted sveral $$1000s. We only chose to do repair that we came for. Great decision! After taking our car immediately to certified foreign car repair shop - only 1 out of 4 remaining issues was present. We saved tons of money by staying away from BMW Cleveland service this time, so never again. Moreover, "account managers" act like they own our cars, stuck up and rude. Getting any info out of them was like pulling teeth.
