Really good. The pulled pork sandwiches phenomenal and I really like the sauce that put into it. I would definitely be back here again. The pho was pretty good too. The kids all ate it and my wife had a bowl of it as well. It's a bit on the pricey side but that's to be expected downtownFood: 5/5
Echoing other reviewers- the food was not good. Ordered the Singapore Style Noodle and it was barely warm - some of the veggie was even cold. Not good!!! Plus it was VERY salty - not sure it was a one-time thing or they tend to make their food salty. The cashier showed no emotion whatsoever - that was fine since there was no expectation to begin with.
I got my drink and waited for my food to be ready. After about 15 minutes, I went to the counter to see what was up and they said they didn’t have anything for me. Like ?? I got my drink and I had a charge on my card. The worker had an attitude and didn’t seem happy that I was interrupting her talking time with a coworker. I get that I arrived an hour before closing, but come on. Food was decent. I liked the pulled miso pork and the deviled tea eggs. I wanted kimchi, but none was given in my box. Overall, not a very great first impression.
Korean Style Sandwich: 7/10, I was expecting a banh mi style baguette, but it was just a regular wheat sub roll. Food: 3/5
I had a terrible experience with the food and staff at the Haymarket location. The noodles in my dish was room temperature to lukewarm; the veggies and chicken cold. Singaporean-Styled noodles, or , is a classic rice noodle dish stir-fried in a wok with high heat, mixed with chicken and veggies. I’ve had this dish many times in the past even in Asia and have loved it. I asked the staff for a new order but they argued that “this dish was supposed to be cold”. So I asked if they could at least reheat it for me but they declined. Then, they proceed to complain to each other in front of me in Spanish, which was so disrespectful! At one point, they told me “no entiendo”, which means “I don’t understand” in Spanish - even though we were conversing in English with no issues minutes ago!! I had to ask a second time before my food was reheated in the microwave for 1 minute. So yes, I paid $14 for microwaved food. Was it worth it? No. I’d like to say though, I had other food at Bon Me that were good. The Singaporean-Styled noodles was either unauthentic or a one-off thing. Either way, I will not eat at the Haymarket location again.
Fairly priced and food is decent enough. Nothing stands out as being amazing to me but I keep coming back anyway...probably because there's a good balance of vegetables and it seems somewhat healthy. I've had the food truck fave, the namesake banh mi and I've also created my own bowls. Would prefer it if they put more sauce for the rice bowls, I can tell the flavor is there but to me it's a bit too subtle. They get quite busy during lunch hour so try to come right before or after to miss the crowds!
I heard that Bon Me was the first food truck in Boston and you can tell by their quick and efficient service. I got my food it seems like instantly after I ordered it. Every part of it tasted fresh and delicious. The carrots we're cold and crisp and the pulled pork was hot and juicy. I got the Food Truck Fave which is listed with a 2 fire rating but I didn't find it all that spicy but I've been told that I often rate things much less spicy than others might. I was not upset, the dish was delicious and I would definitely recommend it and Bon Me.
Pho was merely ok. Leave out the cabbage, it's not in pho! Tables are not cleaned. Bon Me staff hide the napkins so you can't clean the tables yourself.Food: 3/5
Their Miso Kimchi ramen is good and comes with a bowl of miso soup. This place is right across a dining hall and there were plenty of seats when we were there. Awesome place to eat!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Bon Me won't disappoint you, but it also won't blow you away. I've had most of their menu across several locations; what you get at one Bon Me is going to taste the same as what you get at any other Bon Me. They mainly sell four kinds of dishes: Sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, noodle salads. SANDWICHES: These are the classic bánh mì sandwiches that Bon Me is named after. One of my favorite foods. Personally, I look for three things in a good bánh mì: crunchy bread, cold + crisp vegetables, cilantro, and a slightly spicy sauce. Bon Me hits all of these points, so I'd call it a passable sandwich, but it could be improved. The bread is crispy, but the sauce isn't viscous enough. It ends up pooling on the bottom of your sandwich, soaking the bread and dripping everywhere. It could also benefit from more daikon radish mixed in with the carrots. The sauce is lightly spicy and definitely flavorful, but again, too watery. All in all, it's a good sandwich. Fix the problems above, and it's a great sandwich. SALADS / NOODLE SALADS / RICE BOWLS: These are all in one category because they're extremely similar. You have a main ingredient lettuce, noodles, or rice, with a protein and a bunch of toppings. If you go with the salad or noodle salad, I suggest the miso lime vinaigrette. You won't be disappointed with any of the proteins. None of them are over-the-top, in-your-face with flavor, but I'm assuming may be to allow the other ingredients in the bowl to come through. If they have it when you go, I recommend the Suchuan Peppercorn Chicken, or the Miso-Braised pulled pork. They have a rotating list of special proteins, so be sure to go back every now and then and try something new. You'll end up spending between $8-9 for lunch if you don't get a drink, which is average Boston lunch price. For the food you get, it's an average value. You won't leave hungry, but you won't leave over-stuffed; the portions are well thought-out. The staff is always polite and happy. Even with the very long lines, they manage to crank out tons of food relatively shortly. I'd try to go before 12PM, preferably around 11:30AM, if you don't want to wait in a line.
