Story

We are a long established Used Book Store in Centralia, WA. Our inventory is broad and we have an interesting assorted titles and subjects. We have over 30,000 books in our inventory and also most are available online through Amazon, Alibris, Biblio and more.

We'd love to "find" that special book you've been looking for if we don't have it in our inventory. Also with any book you find online with another vendor, we will match any online pricing also with .50 cents less discount. Just show us the link to the book.

We also like our books without batteries, so if you find an ebook online and we have that same book in our inventory, we will sell it to you for .50 cents below the online cost.

FOR TRADE - OUR GUIDELINES

We take great pride in the quality and selection of our books because we know how important that is to you. Chances are that we may not accept some of your books for trade. It's nothing against your books or taste in books.

Book Quest loves books of all kinds. It's more likely that they are not accepted for various reasons. We sell gently used books in good or better condition. Books will be considered for trade if they meet the following criteria:

TERMS OF ACCEPTABLE BOOKS

• We are overstocked on that title or author.
• The book is in too poor of a condition for us to resell.
• We are not confident we can resell the book.
• Covers and all pages are intact and in good condition.
• Books must not have water damage, mold, mites, or an unusual odor, or cigarette smell.
• Books must not have missing or torn pages, highlighting or underlining of text, stains, or excessive wear.
• To get maximum credit, hardcover books must have the original dust jacket. If no dust jacket, this may result in decreased credit or not accepted.

SUBJECT AND TITLES WE ACCEPT

We buy books from a broad range of different types and subjects including fiction books, current fiction bestsellers and popular children’s books, however we can’t buy every book. What we buy varies day to day, for a number reasons, including what we already have in our inventory as well as demand for certain books or book types. There are also some types of books we do not buy at all.

What types of books don’t you buy?
We buy a variety of different kinds of books; however there are some types of books we just don’t buy. These include but are not limited to:

Ex-library books
Advance reading copies, and/or promotional or “screener” copies of books
Any books with “not for sale”, “not for sale”, “review copy” or “free copy” written anywhere on or in them
Most encyclopedia sets
Magazines
Comic books
International edition textbooks (standard U.S. editions only)
Older computer books
Older textbooks
Teacher’s or Instructor’s editions
Solutions manuals
Individual parts of sets
Reader’s Digest books
Book Clubs
Pornography or any other offensive/explicit material

Do you buy audio books?
Yes! We buy audio books on CD. Unfortunately, we do not purchase many books on cassette tape titles as this format has low demand. Prices are dependent on what titles we already have in CD’s.

When can we trade?
You can bring in your gently used books every day except Saturday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The maximum number of books we can accept from you is 25-50 per day.

When you come in, just drop them off at the counter with our sales associate. You can go browse while we figure out your trade.

We will set up a credit account and keep track of the credit for you, leaving you with no credit slips to keep track of. We will gladly write the balance a receipt if you wish.

Book Quest has been located in the Field and Lease building, built in 1897 in historic downtown Centralia since 1990. We list our books with many of the major online sellers and have over 14,000 books listed. Our in-store inventory is 60,000 of various titles and subjects.
