Story

Boston Veterinary Clinic is a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic that provides compassionate, fear-free veterinary care for our patients and trusted, relationship-focused services to our clients. We are Your Other Family Doctor.

Boston Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Brian J. Bourquin and opened its doors in historic Bay Village/South End in 2014. Today, we have grown to a five-doctor practice that offers individualized, nose-to-tail care to dogs & cats in Greater Boston.

In 2016, Boston Veterinary Clinic was accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry, and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. That means your furry family member will be cared for by one of the top 12-15% of animal hospitals in the United States and Canada.

Our scheduled appointments are 30 minutes, not 15 or 20 minutes like other clinics, to ensure no question goes unanswered. We will get to know you and your companion’s lifestyle and address your needs individually.

Boston Veterinary Clinic has been very good to us and our dog. The staff is great. They always seem genuinely excited to see their patients. The love for animals is palatable at Boston Veterinary Clinic! Only once did we have a complaint, the clinic reached out to us immediately and asked us how they could improve. This is really a great clinic for your four legged family member!

My dog, Teddy, got a scratch on his cornea and received wonderful care here. Before discovering this, the affected eye had swelling, redness, and pupil constriction. Trying to avoid a costly visit to an animal hospital, I called a few vets prior to discovering Boston Veterinary Clinic. They were the only ones that found a way to fit Teddy into their schedule same day - I called at 12:32pm and had an appointment at 1pm! We were cared by Vet Randi Henry & an assistant (I forget her name, but she was awesome). They put a numbing agent and temporary stain in his eye to identify the scratch, flushed it clean, gave us eye drops and pain meds and we were on our way. We have since received calls asking how Teddy is doing. We would be fine without, but it is definitely reassuring to know our vet is accessible.

The folks at the front desk are on the quiet side. Our vet said she’d like to see us in a follow up appointment, but no one at the desk mentioned it when we checked out. All good otherwise.

We have been clients of Dr. B since he had his mobile vet clinic many years ago and have been incredibly satisfied with the service he and the entire staff at Boston Veterinary Clinic offer during each and every visit.   Whether it has been dealing with routine issues or life threatening ones, Dr. B has been incredibly patient, supportive, informative, and most importantly, caring.   We couldn’t recommend him or the entire staff more!

SUCH great service! Everyone who works at Boston Veterinary Clinic is kind and helpful. You can tell they are truly "animal people." A bit pricier than other vets in the area, but they explain all of your charges to you openly and you definitely get what you pay for!

The team at Boston Vetrinary Clinic is amazing!!!! Duke was feeling so tired and sick that they did all of his exam and treatment in the waiting room since it was a quiet day, wish I could share pictures on this review. Can’t thank everyone there enough for helping my baby when he was feeling sick!
