Should be called Brakeley Lack of Care Center. My mother passed away very recently after a very brief stay and the manner in which I was informed of her death with a call that said We regret to inform you but your mother coded and died this morning seemed callous. My mom was humiliated by an aide when she asked for help in the bathroom that she could not control. The aide said ooo and when my mom said will you help me she said no.Thankfully a wonderful nurse came in to assist.The other flaw is how long it takes them to answer a call button . Many elderly find it difficult to wait and try to walk themselves resulting in falls. It seems like you go in after being released from the hospital stable and only seeking some rehab. Unlike when a patient goes home with you you don't get to see the discharge orders or know if they are followed.I truly regret my decision to send her to a care center instead of home with me. Here it is a week later and I have so many more questions than answers I plan to get my questions answered.

My cousin is currently in extended-living at Brakeley. She is well cared for, well fed, and treated with the utmost respect. Her condition has continued to improve daily and she has a positive attitude. She is extremely happy living there and joins in all activities including the patient advocate committees. She has built a wonderful rapport with the staff and they are fond of her. It was obvious to my family that she is being provided with the best.

My mother spent nearly a month in this facility after a hip fracture. For 3 weeks she experienced constant diarrehea. When she addressed her condition with staff she was informed that a lot of other patients had it also. Nothing was done for her as far as a diet change or treatment. Upon discharge her primary ordered lab work and she was diagnosed with what is commonly called C Diff. She was immediately treated and soon began to see improvement. Her doctor stated that it would be reported to the facility since it is highly contageous and they need to be aware that she was not treated or were precautions taken to avoid spreading it, since it is a risk to older patients.

Terrible care awful food nobody cares! And as far as assisted living goes....unless you are actually dieing you will get no help. The head nurse there does not care, it might interfere with other duties..... And she is rude!
