Absolutely shameful.

Fire the chief.

 I wonder if the chief would have been grateful if another officer left his jurisdiction to help HIM during an active shooter situation where people are being killed and the chief was calling for help.

 Or would he say "No! Don't leave your jurisdiction!" to the other officer?

Fired a good officer for responding to a shooting in a nearby city when they asked for help. This chief is clueless and needs to be fired!

GIVE HIM BACK HIS  POSITION!!!!!!!! 25 YEARS SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING  ..YOU DO NOT FIRE A COP FOR HIS RESPONSE TO A LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION...        PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS ACTION.

The police chief should be fired and ashamed. I say fire that idiot chief and give the brave officer the position.
