I went to the Broadway Gardens on Saturday, December 23 at 7pm, looking for a last minute Christmas tree for my mom. My mom is 101 and is.very sick and doesn't have a long time left. I decided that she should have one more real Christmas tree. The guys working outside were wonderful they helped me pick out the prettiest tree that they had, they brought it inside in front of the stove and dried it out and tied it on to the roof of my car. When I went to pay them they refused to take any money and said that any lady 101 shouldn't have to pay for a Christmas tree, then as I left they brought out a Poinsettia plant and again wouldn't take any money for it. My mom loves the Christmas tree and says it's by far the prettiest tree that she's ever had. It's lifted her spirits and she's doing much better now than she was a week ago. Thank you Broadway Gardens

I recently visited for the first time and quickly realized I'd been sorely missing out by going to the big box stores, which are slightly closer to me. The selection and quality of plants are amazing -- especially for perennials and shade garden plants. I could have spent hours there. The staff know what they are talking about. It's *slightly* more expensive than the big box stores (like $1 more for a 1-gallon perennial), but the plants here are larger and healthier, and many have been grown locally -- which makes it worthwhile, in my view. My only suggestion would be to add a section specifically for Maine native plants so that those of us interested in planting native varieties can see them all together!

Super nice staff and a great selection of plants and flowers and other items like natural insect repellent all at affordable prices.
