I have been a patient at brookwood dental for over twenty years and have been seeing the same hygienist for most of that time. Today, I called to see if I could change the time of my appointment for a cleaning and was told that there were no other openings that day. I asked when Julie's next opening is and she told me that they switched my hygienist to someone I had never seen before. Shouldn't they call and let the patient know?! They said my usual hygienist does not have an opening for 3 months. I am a college student and am only in the area so often so I need a cleaning in July so I can schedule my next 6 month appointment during my holiday break. The receptionist stated that they merged with anther practice...when they actually not only merged with another practice but got bought out by a corporation. I said, "I've been with the practice my whole life, I guess that doesn't mean anything anymore." The receptionist didn't say anything. I then stated that I would most likely be calling for my records and x-rays be sent to a new practice and I would no longer be returning as a patient. I did not recieve an apology and the receptionist didn't try to keep me at all. This practice is NOT patient focused anymore and that was made very clear today.

I have been a Brookwood client since I was a child and I've decided to leave since the practice was sold to an outside group. No more Dr. King!!! He was the best and always stood behind his work. My first experience on Feb 6th was interesting. I had a filling done and then a cleaning done after in that order. Also, I had a retainer bar cemented in place too. So I arrived on time and we started right away. First off, they didn't give me enough novacaine and they ended up running behind so she had me just put up with drilling which I felt all of. Second thing that happened was my retainer bar was fixed by bonding 2 of my teeth together so I couldn't run floss through it. My hygienist commented on this right away during my cleaning (she was very good at her job). The next day it broke. My next visit was 2 weeks later to have the rest of the work done (redoing some old fillings). I met with another doctor who asked me what we were doing. I said I don't know (how would I?). Also, my doctor was running about 25 mins late. Once we started, he continually commented on the traffic coming in and out of the break room and then he even took a 10 minute break. I found this all very weird. Also, I mentioned the broken bar and he said to go to my orthodontist and that he would't fix it. I said ok that works for me. At the end of my second visit I paid in full and left. A few days later I received the whole bill and my retainer charge was still on there so I called to get it credited to my next cleaning or even a refund. I was told by the receptionist they can't do that. So I filed a claim with AMEX and I've leaving (disputing $50 of $828). This isn't the same place it used to be. It's chaotic and unorganized and unprofessional. It's a shame that they don't have anyone capable of providing good customer service and the ability to think about the long term relationship we have had and I would have loved to continue. Oh well!

The doctors and nurses are very friendly, easy to talk to and they get the job done.

Dr King is the best, but he must be getting ready to retire, sending his patients to the new dentist Dr Skippy. This guy must be 25 years old I wonder if he is old enough to drive.. The oral butchers are very ruff when cleaning teeth. They push down on your jaw till it nearly breaks, the stab your gums with the tools. This was not my first bad experience there but surely my last. The oral butchers are the reason.
