Best waffles in this EARTH!  Went here with my mom who was in town from Atlanta.  We had to wait 2 hours for a table and it was worth the wait.  The chicken was a little to dark dark for me and I did not like it that much.  Seasoning was not as soulful or home cooked as I would like.  The waffles took the crown and made up for the wait and the chicken.  I will definately be back for the waffles.

My Son wanted me to eat Chicken and Waffles for Breakfast. It was wonderful! I love the unique menu it was a nice change from typical breakfast food. It was crowded. We sat  at the counter but I could see how wonderfully fresh every meal was prepared. When I am in the Oakland area I definitely will return for some Waffles and Chicken.

I came here again with a friend from out of town. The meal was great but on return to my car the back window was shattered and items were missing from the car. Of course this is not the responsibility of Brown Sugar but please be aware of this major problem in this area. Nothing is  worse than coming to your car and your $ 40.00 breakfast turns into a $440.00 day :(

I ordered the fried chicken & waffles for breakfast. The chicken was moist, tender, and very delicious. This place was full the moment they opened at 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday. The only reason I don't give this place a 5 star rating is because of the service. A gentleman came 7 minutes after I got seated, and his order came before mine. And guess what?,we both ordered the same breakfast. He was even surprised. When I finally got my order, it's been 40 minutes since I got seated. The food was excellent otherwise. Finally, it's not a good area or location to park your car during the night so be careful.

This place is incredible! I want to eat more from there, right now. Eat everything you can while you're here. There may be a less-than-there homeless gentleman trying to direct parking. If he tells you to park parallel to the wall, don't. If you do, you'll be asking patrons to move their cars so you can leave. I'm tell you this for a friend... But seriously the chicken and waffles are phenomenal.

Amazing. Our waitress missed a few items but we were too preoccupied with the food to care! Chicken was crispy, waffles were light, butter and apple syrup were delicious. Mac n cheese was on point. Smoked yams were delicious too. Finished the meal with a sweet potato pie w/ ice cream. I honestly don't understand how someone could give this place less than 4 stars. We will be back.
