Dr Bruce Carter is really good at what he does, however he has a very nasty and hateful bedside manner. I have sucked it up and dealt with it to receive proper care for my child because he is known as "the best", however he has gone out of his was to make multiple completely uncalled for and very rude comments that are in no way related to medical care. I was asked if "he was mine" referring to my one year one daughter, and when I said "Yes, she's a girl" he responded with "well he doesn't look like a girl". I was 8 months pregnant during this appointment and upon realizing that I am not with my older daughters (his patient) father, he said "Wait you're divorced? Why are you pregnant?" During previous appointments when her father was present I was completely ignored by the doctor though I was the primary parent and would be doing almost all of the follow up care after her surgery, and had valid questions and concerns. He refused to make eye contact with me while her father was there and didn't address my questions until I stood up for myself near the end of the appointment and demanded a response to things he hadn't covered and flat out ignored. At one point he looked at her father and said that he was speaking to him and in other words directed her dad to shut me up. At the end of my appointment today he looked at my 6 year old and told her with a really hateful tone "Well, no prize for you today" in an attempt to punish her for not patching enough. This is not even the half of the rude things that I have experienced with this doctor, but again he is recommended as "the best" and after a horrible experience with another surgeon I don't have much of a choice but to suck it up in order for my daughter to receive the care she needs.

Dr. Christian Carter was just wonderful with my 1 year old son in the office and the hospital. Caring, calm, and even made a phone call on a saturday to see how he was doing. His level of care and devotion to his patients is not something you encounter much these days. He even had a video for my 4-yr old daughter to watch at the follow up appointment and she sat quietly the whole time! He is very "in touch" with children and what makes them "tick". Would recommend him to anyone!
