Just founded a non-profit, Veterans Combating Child Hunger, and went in to rent a large tiller for the charity farm. They were reluctant to deal with with me because I had two African American youth volunteers. The racism was palpable from the staff in the rental department.  After agreeing to rent the large tiller at $320/week they attempted to bill me at $420/week at the register.  I made note of this and I was assured, by the owner, that it would be honored.  We had the 3rd rainiest June on record so I needed it longer (They had collected over $1000 in advanced payments on my debit card).  Forgot to call them and ended up bringing it in on the 2nd week, got the spark plug cleaned so it started and re-agreed to rent it for another week.  That would be 3 weeks @$320=$960+tax.  Thats without any discount at all, no benefit for being a non-profit startup.  I arrive 3 days short of 3 weeks and am told I owe more funds and am told I will be done a 'favor' to reduce the charge to 4 week rate of $360/week.  I refuse to be hustled in a state where verbal contract is law.  I recommend that you patronize Tractor Supply where you can save 30% on fence post and fencing.  I didn't even bother comparing anymore prices once I saw that comparison.  I will most likely seek damages for breach of contract, but to save you the time and $, just stay away.
