This restaurant is small but mighty! It's in the cutest little town that looks like it should be in a western movie. As soon as you walk in the door you feel as you've been taken back in time. The menu is designed to share and the food is delicious! They have an excellent cocktail list and also do events each week with guest bartenders. I always have wonderful service when I dine here. The only down side is the parking which is a dirt lot at the end of the street. If your car rides low I suggest you not park there. Other than that I have nothing but great things to say about this place.

Located in the quaint town of Port Costa, Bull Valley Roadhouse is a quirky, casual, and unique destination. We started off with drinks and the very enjoyable Backyard Bubbly. We had the Grilled Caesar which we didn't like because it was a bit stringy and not enough traditional Caesar taste - the anchovies were also too crunchy. The Mussels and Fries were delicious and drizzled with bright aioli sauce - perfect dipping starter! We had the Crispy Buttermilk Fried Chicken entree, and while the meat was done to perfection, we thought it was a bit on the salty side. The jalapeno jam did give it some needed punch! The wait staff were very friendly and attentive, while the Ambience was romantic and rustic. Although, the music level was a bit high in the annex.

Service is ok and the ribeye had so much salt in it that you couldn't eat it. I think they dumped the whole carton of salt in it. Too expensive for food you can't eat.

I've been coming here for years. I usually order the lamb chops. Service is always friendly and respectful. Sometimes there is music. The place has the ambience of a high end Gold Country historic restaurant. They have patio dining in the back. They mix a great martini.

Great food, nice ambience. We ate in the newer section out back, but if you want to experience the more historic side, you can ask for the main dinng room.
