The Buttermilk Cafe is Chef Carol Irwin's take on comfort food with an upscale twist. Chef Irwin has been honored as San Antonio Chef of the Year and Texas Chef of the Year. Experience love served in the form of good ol' home cooking with us!

Good food at a reasonable price. Last time we went, we had an issue with the food and mentioned it to our server. She must've mentioned it to the owner (also the chef) because she came to the table, sat down and asked what the issue was. She listened and didn't make excuses. Very impressed....

My new favorite restaurant! Our server, Annalisa was perfect making suggestions from the menu. Very pleasant and friendly The ingredients were obviously of excellent quality. My guest and I were quite impressed. Today we had breakfast. Can't wait to try lunch! We will definitely be back and tell all our friends!

delicious chicken and dumplings, returned for more two days later. we were the first in line to be seated, the hostess seated three sets of people before us. we got up and left they were not busy at all the first time we ate there the people who were seated and ordered after us got their food 40 minutes before us. i never complained second time we ordered ice tea and got peach tea, no big deal it was good third time we were not seated and left. the five stars are for the food. i am a retired server i have respect for restaurant staff. this place needs to improve with their staff starting with the hostess

My apologies, I rated the wrong restaurant and gave you only 2 stars. The place we did go ( Fork and Spoon) got the 2 stars. I really wanted to eat here but 90 minutes ( on Father's Day) was a bit too long. I am sure you are worthy of all 5 star ratings, can't wait to see!

Great food and great staff. Definitely plan on coming back when we travel through this city again. P.S. the pancakes are NOT thin like we had thought hahaha it was a pleasant surprise when our server brought out a thick steaming stack of pancakes, thanks everyone.
