Story

Buttonwood Beach is located on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore on a gorgeous piece of land adjacent to the banks of the Elk River and C&D Canal at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Construction began in 1973 on this innovative concept in campground living, and now 40 years later, Buttonwood Beach hosts four generations of pampered campers. Quickly becoming one of the premiere campgrounds of its kind in the nation, we have never lost sight of our initial goal - to provide the best possible service and environment for our campers.

From the moment you drive down our tree-lined lane and pass through our electronic security gate, you’ll know that Buttonwood Beach is different from other campgrounds you have visited. After registering at the office, you will be welcome to take a self-guided tour of the resort and encouraged to talk to the residents who have been here for years.
