BV Electric is the company you need to help you fix your crazy SF electrical.  They can take on the big jobs and the small.  I need to get a circuit run to support a smart thermostat, and I'll be calling them for that job (or better yet, I'll just request a quote directly on Yelp)!

This time, I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to replace the 3-way switches on my knob and tube circuit.  Apparently, it's really complicated if you don't know the tricks.  Well, BV Electric sent someone out and they used an extension cord and a multimeter and had it fixed in no time.  I was literally working on 2 of these circuits all day and just had to give up.  Thanks BV Electric!

This was the second time we used BV Electric. There was some difficulty on the appointed days due to difficulty parking downtown, but they pulled through, even coming on a federal holiday to do the work when parking was easier. The sign of a good business is how well they handle problems, and BV passed that test. We would recommend and use them again.

The only reason that this is four instead of five stars is that I called Thursday and could not get help until the following Tuesday.  But it was a three-day weekend and I totally understand why I had to wait.
Rigo came this afternoon and fixed my closet light. He knew what the problem was right away and replaced a switch and some wiring. He was courteous and efficient and did an excellent  job.
This is the second time I have used BV Electic and my second review  - they have not disappointed me and I will call them the next, and any, time I need electrical help.  Thank you Rigo!

Horrible service, overpriced, and poor business practices. I had an electrician from BV Electric come out to do 2 projects - install a 220V outlet for my dryer and an outlet for my microwave. I was quoted 1 hour for the dryer project ($129) and 2 hours for the microwave ($258). An electrician came out and took 2 hours for the dryer (1 hour of that was driving around gathering parts) and decided to charge me $592 ($205 for parts - and after he left I looked it up and that outlet cost $35 and 20' of romex cost $12). He said he wasn't able to do the work for the microwave because it would take 6 hours so after using some scare tactics (saying it's impossible to do this simply and needs to be done right), he quoted me $1500 for 6 hours of work and would come back later - so I chose to trust him and said ok. He came back a few days later and completed the project in 2 hours and still charged me $1500. So it was $1500 for 2 hours of works. I must be in the wrong business if I can charge clients $750/hour for simple electrical work. After I complained about the price, he said that if I went to him directly instead of the company that it would've been cheaper and tried to give me his phone number for future projects (no way would I ever use him). I will never use this company again. Avoid them at all costs! Sadly I can't read the"electricians name on the receipt so I can't let you know who to avoid.

When I called the company to dispute the cost, they apologized and admit that it was wrong but so generously offered 10% off my next project with them. Never use this company.
