I've always heard that the best way to find out if a mechanic is honest is to take your vehicle in for a basic repair that it doesn't really need. If the mechanic "fixes" it and charges you, then they're probably not the most trustworthy. If they give you back your vehicle and tell you that your vehicle is fine, then you can trust them. 

I was having trouble with my vehicle's engine shuddering from time to time and was afraid that there was an (expensive) issue with my engine or transmission. My family has used C&J before, so I dropped off my car on a Friday, expecting to spend $300 in repairs at the very least. Despite being busy and having a lot-full of customers, they managed to work on my car over the weekend and called me back in the following Monday. 

Bear in mind that I went into this expecting to drop a good deal of money, and there are many mechanic shops in Gadsden that would have taken advantage of this and simply cashed out to their benefit. However, the gentleman whom I spoke with told me that my problem could be solved by simply running to Walmart and buying a bottle of Seafoam to put in my gas tank - because I had gotten condensation in my fuel lines. They didn't even charge me for the time. 

Amazing experience, and for this reason I will always use C&J when I'm having issues with my vehicle.
