Great place for having breakfast in SF downtown. One of the things I’d like to point is that their orange juice is really fresh, not something coming from a plastic jar. All the dishes are well prepared and delicious. Loved going there every morning while visiting SF. If you’re around do not miss it. Totally recommend.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: NoDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
The staff is great! The food is great! Even if there is a line outside, don't despair, it moves quickly. The food is fresh, cooked to order, and classic diner fare with many slight twists. We ate here 3 times for breakfast while staying at the Hilton for 6 days. It's worth going back repeatedly. You may ask, Why only 4 stars? The answer is simple, and maybe it's petty, but it's because of the coffee. For a place that does so much business for breakfast, I would expect better coffee. Some may love this coffee, but it is roasted in the style of Starbucks. In other words, it's not roasted, it's burnt. I'm not a native of California and if I had experienced coffee like this at other restaurants, I would just chalk it up as a cultural preference, but this was the only place I went to with coffee like this. Again, some may find this as a positive thing, but it was such a drawback, I just ordered water on my 3rd trip for breakfast.
Early attendance recommended. Arrived around 7:15 that Saturday morning. No wait no line. Oh these crepes were delicious. The orange juice, if you like pulp, was delicious. Hash brown was well seasoned and the pancake was delicious.
Great little diner, food was great I had breakfast one day and lunch another day. Staff here a very kind and welcoming always checking in if your food is OK and refilling drinks without being asked. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
We liked our breakfast at Cafe Mason. Great food, good service, kind and helpful staff. There was a bit of a wait 15 mins until we could get a table. This place seems to be a bit pricier than the other breakfast restaurants in the neighbourhood, we had a 20% discount coupon and still paid more than at the other places we tried for a similar breakfast.
I have had mixed experiences here. It is easier to get in and sit down here in comparison to other nearby diners so that’s a plus. The food is average. I did like their California benedict, though. The servers are pretty attentive and the ambience is pretty nice. It gets very warm inside so the air conditioning could be improved for sure. It is a great place to quickly grab a decent breakfast and go about your day if you have limited time. Not a place for dates for sure, so keep that in mind. Good for friends, families and established friends!
Went back for breakfast last Saturday. Second time was as good as the first time, which was pre COVID. Quick, friendly service. Excellent food. A large menu for both breakfast and lunch. Reasonable priced for SF. A very close walk from Union Square. If you are staying near the square, you can get there without having to go up or down a steep hill.
Walking by when we ask someone about restaurant. She said absolutely should try. So glad we took her advice. Our breakfast was HOT..Coffee best ever. Pancakes so light and delicious. Feta cheese spinach omelet perfect. Thick bacon and sausage so tasty. Definitely will be back. Service was fabulous too!! Only complaint would be she ask what kind of bread and I chose English muffin and they charged a extra $1. Thought that was weird.
Simple good food. I had the Swedish Breakfast, the fruit was fresh, generous portions, good pancakes. 'Parking for Italians only' and other funny retro decoration. Not many healthy i e. low cal options on the menu but otherwise just the right place to get a tasty warm meal.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
Service was good but a little slow. To be fair this place was busy both days we went. The place was clean and nicely decorated. The food was decent but not excellent. Heard rave reviews on the billion dollar bacon. lt was very underwhelming. It was supposed to have cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and black pepper. Didn't taste any of that, just seemed like sweet thick cut bacon to me.
