This spot was the perfect choice for celebrating our friend’s birthday! Every aspect was fantastic—delicious food, great music, and an incredible atmosphere. The drinks were spot on; I especially loved my perfectly made old fashioned. Plus, Marian, our server, was friendly and incredibly professional throughout our visit.Food: 5/5
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Seville Restaurant and Tapas Grill with my husband, and it was truly exceptional, thanks to our waitress, Tee N. Her warm welcome and genuine hospitality set the tone for our entire experience. The ambiance of the restaurant transported us to a Spanish-style micro vacation, with its seaside decor and cozy fire pits. Tee N went above and beyond, offering thoughtful recommendations and even arranging a special mocktail for me, the Tamarindo Margarita, which was refreshingly delightful. We opted for the "dividida - any two paellas* cooked in one pan" option and savored the traditional paella valenciana and the black seafood paella—truly the best choice ever! The paella was a culinary delight, with tender seafood, crispy pork belly, and perfectly cooked rice that provided the perfect bite. The addition of crispy pork belly added a delightful contrast to the dish, providing a savory richness that complemented the seafood beautifully. Each grain of rice absorbed the flavors of the seafood broth and aromatic spices, creating a flavorful base that tied the dish together. The spicy octopus ceviche was a standout, and the Basque cheesecake was a delightful treat with its delicate decorations. Tee N's kindness and care made the evening truly memorable, lifting our spirits despite some unfortunate news. Seville Restaurant and Tapas Grill exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning for more wonderful cuisine. Thank you, Tee, for an unforgettable dining experience.
I have mixed feelings about Café Sevilla. I used to love it. But now, It's a hit-or-miss—I've had good experiences and some real disasters. The overall quality of the food doesn't seem well taken care of. The live music is definitely a plus, creating a great vibe where the whole restaurant is immersed in a mood of happiness. The Spanish signature, the seafood paella, was pretty ordinary here. I do love their tapas, but the skewers are a definite no for me—they just don't taste good. The servers are good, but at times, they seem way too busy to provide the attention needed for a seamless dining experience.
I never write bad reviews... but Sevilla has remedied that. I was in a party of 11 for New Years Eve, we each paid $75 ahead of time for a 10:30 reservation, thinking we would get $75 worth of beverage/food/service. I would say that we basically paid to be ignored and told "what do you want me to do? I'm busy!" when we ask for WATER. We got there ahead of our reservation, waited in line for 35 MINUTES. Then when in, they had us standing and waiting FOR ANOTHER 20 MINUTES before they cleaned a table to seat us. By this time, we had looked at a menu, ordered our food and drinks immediately knowing there would be a wait... boy was there a wait, I think our food is still being made to this day. IT NEVER CAME OUT. FOR 2 HOURS, we flagged our waiter down multiple times asking for updates, and he started quickly sprinting past our table, clearly serving others, giving them food and drinks and avoiding eye contact. Wish I got his name, tall chunky white guy, short buzzed darker hair. I even had to ask another waitress to get our waiter, and it still took him another 20 minutes to come by. She seemed nice tho and a lil apologetic. I get it, you're busy, but like, if you see an upset party can you not maybe go check on the order and give us an estimate? Instead of repeating "well what am I supposed to do for you?" Uhh.. I don't know.. your job? He didn't even pretend to care. The only thing we got was a couple vodka sodas and 2 pitchers of "margaritas" or as one in our party put it... more like sweet lemon juice. I WOULD NEVER TREAT A PAYING CUSTOMER THE WAY WE WERE TREATED. The problem is, we paid ahead of time and lost our leverage and they took advantage of that. It was disorganized and unprofessional. I was really looking forward to trying the paella. Heck, if even the charcuterie board came out or a basket of bread or crackers I might give another star. But we left at 1 AM wondering if we should stop at Taco Bell. Because we had nothing in our stomaches except the watered down margarita. Also, never got the water. The teeny tiny pitcher in the photo that looks like it might hold water.. das the margarita. ... The music was good though, they chose a good DJ. All in all, would not recommend going here. 0/5 stars. Actually, -75. Given that's how I feel in my wallet. In addition to paying double for the Uber that night to get out due to the holiday rates. No more pre-pay events for me. And we hope to get our money back, definitely a scam. P.S. I added a photo of the table after 1.5 hours of us sitting. So you can see that he did have time to kindly throw some hats at us as he ran past. See the empty table in the picture behind with the hats? Yeah it stayed that way. but hey now I have a funny story about how we paid money to starve on NYE. If you start the year off at the bottom, the only direction left to go is up!
Location was awesome and service was excellent. Scallops, meat ball appetizers was a great choice. Paella was on point.Food: 5/5
Fun place with live music it’s loud so don’t count on conversation with good food. Service was very slow but it was a busy night.Food: 4/5
I made a reservation for two for Valentine’s Day for Sevilla in Costa Mesa. I paid a non-refundable deposit to hold my reservation. We arrived on time for our reservation. We were then led by the hostess to a booth that was occupied by another couple. The hostess then had a discussion with that couple. They did not move. The hostess then told us that they were going to let the other couple stay at the booth, which she had intended to seat us at, even though, according to her, the other couple did not have a reservation and just walked in and sat themselves down at that booth. The booth was indoors where the live band was playing. We were then led to a patio table outside, in which the backrest is too far back and the table too low to be able to sit comfortably while eating dinner. Also, we couldn’t hear the live music or see the performance from the patio table. I do not understand why the hostess let the other couple stay at a booth that was supposed to be for us, when we had a reservation and the other couple did not. Why didn’t they ask the other couple to move instead? Why did they prefer a couple without a reservation over a couple that had a paid reservation? The food and the service from the waitress were both excellent.
This place has such a wonderful atmosphere. The seating is comfortable and cozy. I love the live music and it really helps set the vibe. Our waitress was awesome, I wish I could remember her name! The cocktails are great, not a big selection of beers, though. This time I wasn't the biggest fan of the food we ordered, mainly the croquettes were not crispy and full and the filling was just kind of weird with no discernable meat inside. The beef tacos were good as well as the flatbread. I really enjoyed the crostini and chimichurri. We had a really nice time and will be back to try other items on the menu. They have all day happy hour on Tuesdays with food and drink specials at great prices!
Was very scared to write this review because it meant I willingly disregarded my functional medicine protocol of no sugar or processed carbs. We ordered the lobster tail and pork belly squid ink rice with garlic and it was worth the blood sugar spikes and resulting insulin overproduction. Red sangria could have been better to truly complement the paella. Go on Monday nights 1/2 on all paella. Normal price would have $106 at $53 so worth it!
When you go back to get a dish you fell in love with but the chef burns it : My paella tasted completely different because it was overcooked. The ambiance was lively, and Robert, our server took great care of us! The drinks last night Sunday tasted like Minute Maid juice, and the bartender would not correct them for our server Robert.
