My first time here was so fun! I went last Saturday actually. During the Halloween Haunt is probably the best time of year to go. The line for the haunted houses are pretty long, and you can be there for over an hour; but most of the rides are open and there's hardly a line for any of those. Ed Alonzo's Psycho Circus of Magic & Mayhem is definitely a must see as well!

A great amusement park in Cedar Fair Style. A great collection of thrill rides and coasters, and a great water ride area. A couple of things led me to give it 4 stars: 1- The park was not quite as well maintained as a Disney park. 2- Limited hours during non summer months. We went during October, and as seems to be the new trend, the parks are double dipping with holiday themes. The park closed at 5:30pm on a weekend so it could open at 7pm for its Halloween event. Why not include the holiday theme for the same price?

Went to great America for the great haunt! Although it's pretty great, almost every area was similar to last year. Even the performers were the same as last year. If it was your first time going, you would enjoy it more.

Kids love it here! Unlike other amusement parks in the Bay Area, CGA does not disappoint. Their rides and games are often in service even on their slow days. This is helpful for families like mine who aren't fans of busy, crowded spaces. The splash zone is also a huge hit, with play structures that accommodate various age groups. If you live in the Bay Area, it's worth the price for an annual membership.

It's a great park with neat attractions, and enough to keep older kids, adults and little ones entertained, and it is very clean, but there is NO SHADE anywhere!!!!! Despite being there on a breezy 83° day, we were sweating because we were standing in lines totally exposed to the sun and cooking (and so was everyone else!) The employees were friendly and helpful, but prices were food were almost worse than Disneyland prices, and for less of the quality of Disneyland, too. But the tickets themselves were inexpensive, and in general we had a good day. Great America just needs to install some awnings or something for shade, and implement a proper picnic area for guests bringing their own food, and I would be more willing to come back.
