The fact that I even have to give a star just adds insult to injury. Waited 40 minutes to speak to someone then I got an older lady who was just about as rude as possible. She kept telling me that I needed to listen to everything she had to say about steps I had to take and refused to listen to my problem. When I tried to explain to her, she hung up on me. She is truly a demonic person as when I called back they "had reached the maximum" number of people who could call and then the system hung up on me again. This is the 3rd day in a row I have tried to apply. God forbid anyone becomes ill in this country. That older lady I spoke to has reserved a special place in hell.

When I had to go down to the office I had a good experience. There was a small wait but the staff were friendly, security guard was nice, and my issue was resolved within a matter of minutes.

Clearly some of these people don't know who they work for! I was frustrated but not yelling and this worker named Gigi at SDI hung up on me. Absolutely unprofessional and boorish. It was clear that she was more than likely chewing gum and filing her nails, not caring about the very simple questions I was asking her to provide answers for. Explaining my situation was apparently of no consequence to her. Apparently having worked in my field of study for more than 2 decades doesn't get you any respect. This type of governmental infrastructure is clearly the reason why we needed change in 2017...

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with these people. They make you feel like a criminal for needing disability. Paid into the system for over 25 years, first time I've had to collect, and I've had to fight them at every step of the way. They lose paperwork, kick me off at any excuse, even when it's explained they shouldn't. My doctor has had to notify them 3 times that I should be on disability. Talking with a lawyer now about suing EDD over the handling of my case.
