We have ordered our cakes from Calumet Bakery for the last 8 years and I have to say they taste great! The bakery is very good about explaining cake options and design limitations. Order early and I suggest going in with a picture if possible, they do a great job of re-creating. I would love to be able to see an image of the cake before arriving in the bakery  that way if there are any concerns customers know this before arriving in the bakery to pick up.

I have always had a great experience until recently. I never had the glazed donuts until the day my daughter put a order in for my granddaughter birthday we said 149.00 dollars for a cake that was awesome . I fell in love with glazed donuts from them. So I sent my friend there when I was sick for 6 donuts when I got them they were like day old donuts to me. I called spoke to the owner manager and he said he would replace them when I come back in. So one day I was in the area and I stopped in. The lady behind the counter said let me see if he is in. Come on you don't know. I called 3 times after that before coming back in and left messages. No response. To me I got frustrated after no response . it's now the principal of the matter. So I didn't want to go out my way to 112 old fashioned donuts especially living in Hammond but they have forced me too. I'm disappointed in what happen this could have been rectified in a better way especially after speaking with who I thought was a cool owner. If you buy here from my experience get the glazed when they first come out so this won't happen to you. I'm going to miss those mouthwatering when they first come out glazed donuts.

The best bakery in existence that I know of...and I have to travel 6 hours to get here.  Whenever I come through the area I always call ahead to order everything I want for a family gathering.  The cheese coffee cake is my favorite but all the baked goods are amazing.  The show cases are beautiful and the dining area is always clean.  This place can get busy so expect a short wait.  Parking can be a little crowded.

Great Customer Service! I purchased a large birthday cake with fresh strawberries inside and my family and me were very impressed of how delicious it was. They decorated it to the T and it was just perfect!

This is one of the best of all local bakeries! They have a very unique sugar flavor. It's hard to describe. Just head on over and check it out!! They offer multiple doughnut choices and many other pastry goods. Cakes of multiple varieties that you can buy by the slice or whole. Pound cake - chocolate swirl...!! Cinnamon, blueberry, or lemon poppy seed pudding cakes. Variety of pies - Dutch apple is phenomenal! The crumbly topping is literally an inch thick. Various coffee cakes - chocolate chip or regular  cream are bomb! Many cookies to choose from! Oh, and don't forget the cheesecake and cheesecake bars! Oh, I gotta go now! Mm, mmm.
