Story

Camp Deer Creek has earned its reputation as Pittsburgh's Oldest and Finest children's day camp through the quality summer camping experience it provides, the low camper to counselor ratio, and the camp philosophy. Since 1933, families from the PIttsburgh area searching for the most nurturing, stimulating, fun, protective and, safe summer camp, have entrusted their children to the Camp Deer Creek family. Anyone can enjoy the beauty and freedom of an outdoor summer with friends, but the CDC community and opportunities at the camp foster the development of values. Deer Creek has a no bullying policy, and all of our campers abide by the Chief's Golden Rule, "treat others as they would like to be treated." In this manner our campers spend the summer outside, getting dirty, playing in the sand pile and creek, and developing new friendships that can last a lifetime. It is true that the Deer Creek spirit never goes away! Campers have become counselors and now there are second and third generations of campers whose parents began their first camping experience at Camp Deer Creek.
