Cantina Mayahuel on Adams Avenue is one of my favorite places. The food is beyond excellent. They put love into every dish with fresh ingredients and everything is cooked to perfection. The portions are generous so when you order one taco be prepared it is really two tacos. They give you double tortillas, so we just split the inside into two and are completely full. The margaritas are the best I've ever experienced. They are famous for their margaritas! Put this place at the top of your list for Mexican food. PS the Mexican shrimp cocktail is like shrimp ceviche and it is huge, you can share it with two or three people.

Awesome happy hour. Food is excellent and the margarita is better!  UPDATE: 5 stars to 3.  Unfortunately my last experience was a rough one.  One of the bartenders was pretty rude and my birthday celebration suffered.  We haven't been back since.  Possible changing the split check policy would be helpful, but if not, don't let your staff yell at the customers, who are just trying to understand.

Ahhmazing location, fantastical drinks, great food, and more. If you love Tijuana culture, great tequila, and delicious happy hour street tacos definitely check this spot out. Their service is top notch, food is authentic, & the spot is charming and cozy. Great spot to check out!

This place is fantastic. The tequila selection, the atmosphere, the FOOD--all amazing. Service can be a  bit slow, but just relax and enjoy the no frills digs and community ambiance. A San Diego gem. Cannot recommend highly enough. Also, they will do off menu vegan items no questions asked.
