This zoo blew us away! When we heard the zoo was free, we weren't expecting much but we were wrong. It was the coolest zoo experience I have ever had. It isn't a massive zoo and there isn't a huge variety of animals but there was plenty to see. We loved seeing the peacocks and other birds wandering free. The reptile exhibit was a lot of fun. We loved how close it felt like we were to all the animals- they aren't behind plexiglass and they aren't 50ft away. We felt up close and personal to even the lions and leopards. There were only 3 or 4 other families there as we went during the off season which made the experience all the more surreal. The wooden pathways gave it a fun boardwalk feel as well. It was a great place to pleasantly stroll through for a couple hours. It was the highlight of our trip to Cape May (as much of everything else was closed due to it being a weekday in the winter.) Thank you Cape May County Zoo for offering such a fun, education and wonderful experience for FREE! Donations are accepted and we left one on our way out because we were so impressed. You really "otter" visit here.

Always enjoyed going to this zoo. Plenty of animals to enjoy. Aviary is full of bird species, reptile house has plenty of different snakes, turtles and an alligator. You can also feed the goats for 50 cents. They have lions, zebras, giraffes, leopards, bears, monkeys, camels and plenty more interesting creatures. Also you have plenty of food options, parking is ample, a playground/picnic area. They don't charge but they do ask for donations. Don't forget to check out the gift shop.

This is a great family place! The zoo itself is first rate. It's clean, well maintained, and the animal exhibits are great. If you have children it's a must see place when you are in the area. Or, even if you just love animals. The surrounding park is also worth a visit with lots of walking trails, a playground, and a nice lake, especially if you enjoy fresh water fishing. The Cape May County Park and Zoo offers something for everyone!

We love this zoo! We visit frequently in the warm months and always for Christmas in Cape May weekend. It was kind of a bummer that most of the zoo was closed to visitors today because of the weather, but understandable as well. However, we were fortunate enough to see mama snow leopard with one of her babies playing hide and seek. So, so, so neat!!! We also visited Santa, looked for reindeer ;), and saw whatever animals we could. PS - Great job on the new monkey enclosure!

The Cape May County Zoo is such a beautiful Zoo, the grounds are well kept, the animals are well cared for. The admission is free! Just be kind and give a donation as you drive in! I’ve been going to this Zoo for thirty years since I live 5 minutes away, took my kids every week, great playgrounds and places for picnics too. A must see if you’re coming to Cape May County besides beaches and boardwalk
