The best hands down. Can't go wrong for a quick no frills lunch or great food anytime from morning to night. Not fast food. Quality home cooked to your liking. Service is excellent and price is incredible. Quality food and incredible value.

Great staff and the best cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and fries I've ever eaten. I don't know what makes them so good, but I hope they don't change whatever it is. This is a little place that's been around since your grandfather could remember. They used to be opened twenty-four hours a day back when the city was bustling with industry, but a lot has changed. If you're sightseeing in New Britain then add this historical location to your list and check it off. Staff is always great and personable as well.

Unique, delicious hotdogs the specialty. I go out of my way to visit when in Connecticut. People from all ages, ethnicities, walks of life come here! Other great items on menu also. Service is fast, but everything is cooked to order. Capital Lunch is a great "one of a kind"!

Simply the best! Capitol has been there forever, an iconic New Britain spot. The ambiance is bright lights, plastic and Formica - totally Spartan and spotless. The hot dogs are exquisite, made better by the meat sauce. New Britain is, of course, the Mecca of tubed meat products, e.g., kielbasa, hot dogs, sausage. The hot dogs snap when you bite them. The sauce is made of finely ground meat, well-seasoned, producing the famous and still secret Capitol Lunch meat sauce. I think it's distinctive flavor comes from nutmeg, but, of course, I'll never know. Try it yourself!

This used to be my favorite hot dog place in the country. I think new people took it over. Now the buns are usually stale and the dogs are barely warm. Today was my last visit. I was standing at the counter and watched the girl handle raw burgers with her gloved hands then turn around and ask me what I want like she's ready to start making dogs. Maybe I don't understand food safety but I would think you should change your gloves. It's too bad it went down hill. It was great.
