Story

Cardiology Associates is one of the oldest practices in New Jersey and has served the Central Jersey community for over 70 years. The practice has grown steadily over the years since it was founded as a solo practice by Dr. Norman Reitman in 1938. Over the years, our practice has grown and is currently made up of ten physicians, three nurse practitioners and many wonderful and enthusiastic staff members. All of our physicians are board certified, many in several areas of cardiology, and many have received formal recognition from their peers for providing high quality care. Our testing facilities are state of the art and have undergone rigorous evaluations by national accreditation societies and have received various prestigious certifications.

We provide a full range of office and hospital-based cardiac services to our patients. These services include preventive cardiology and the diagnosis and management of hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, coronary artery disease, valvular disease, arrhythmias, and sleep disorders. Our hospital affiliations include Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro and Saint Peters University Hospital.

both my husband and I have been seeing Dr Kalra for several years and couldn't be happier. The office is clean and bright, the staff is more than ready to help with any problems, and the wait times have always been no more than 15 minutes, tops. This practice has a variety of specialists and is prepared to do their best to make your visit an informed, pleasant one. Don't know who those naysayers were referring to, but we have nothing but praise for this group.

It seems I am not the only one who can never reach this practice to get the results of tests etc. Calling either the new patient or existing patient extensions results in continuous ringing, with not even an offer to take a voice message. I finally got through by calling one of the adm extensions, and someone finally answered, and I was told the reason for no phone reply was only 50% of the office staff is on duty. Then the practice should add staff at least on a temporary basis,. But that does not excuse the failure of the practice to return test results on a timely basis., My wife and I were patients in the sleep lab, and when the test was over we were assured the medical director of the sleep lab would call back to review our results and to address a cpap mask issue. We are still waiting, and that was more than 6 months ago,. The sleep lab coordinator did try to advise us, and the practitioner who ordered the test, and her medical assistant also tried to help, but overall the inability to get anyone to answer a phone is inexcusable,. and I suppose we should give up hearing from the sleep lab medical director, We finally demanded his written report, which we were given. The medical and nursing staff at this practice are outstanding, and we would highly recommend them, Our problem is solely with the back office.

I went to this practice's Sleep Lab in order to diagnose and treat my sleep apnea. During the initial sleep study everything went okay, even though the respiratory tech was at times very impatient, and borderline rude. However, my follow-up sleep study was a disaster. The respiratory tech explained that if I had any questions or needed any help during the night that all I needed to do was request help, and she would hear me through the intercom. I only requested for help once, and it was because I felt like I was suffocating due to the BiPAP setting. On one hand, I am completely aware that it was a suffocating sensation, and I was not actually suffocating… But as you might imagine the sensation of suffocating is unbearable at best. So I was hoping that the respiratory tech would be able to make some sort of adjustment to make it more tolerable. However when the respiratory tech entered the room she was extremely agitated for reasons unknown, but regardless she should not have taken her anger out on me. When I explained that I felt like I was suffocating and asked if she could make any adjustments, she snapped "well you keep moving around". I was patient with her even after that… but when her attitude did not waver, I asserted that I needed her to make some sort of adjustment, and asked that she put it on CPAP mode until I fell asleep, so that things would be more bearable. She said she would raise the pressure of the BiPAP, and I agreed to give that a try. In general, I have a hard enough time sleeping as it is, and the respiratory tech's attitude made the issue exponentially worse. So approximately five minutes went by after she raised the BiPAP, and unfortunately I could not bear the suffocating sensation anymore. I quickly sat up and started pulling the EEG leads off, because I just wanted to get out of there. I admit that me pulling the EEG leads off on my own was not the proper thing to do, but I did not want to have a dialogue with the attitudinal technician about ending the test. What ensued after that was just downright wrong. She burst into the room and literally grabbed my arms with both of her hands. She didn't ask me to stop taking off the leads, if she did I would have had no problem complying. Again, she literally grabbed my arms and I had to tell her to let go. In fact, I urge New Brunswick Cardiology Associates to review the video that's taken during the sleep study so that they can see exactly what happened and address it so such poor conduct won't happen to any other patient. I strongly suggest using a different Sleep Lab, there are plenty of them available.

This is specifically for the RWJ/CARDIOLOGY and more importantly about Nancy Came here for a procedure, they had horrible signage inside, so i had no clue where to go. I waited over 45 minutes for someone to return from lunch, which happened to be at my appointment time. When the very nice lady came back she informed me that i needed to proceed upstairs. I talked to the receptionist that was very nice and called the dr. for me. After telling her that i understand i am a little late and am willing to reschedule, another person came out to talk to me. Nancy was the must rude person i have ever had to deal with at any doctors office, the receptionist asked her why she was there because she was not called. Nancy would not even talk to her instead she gave me an attitude and demanded to see the paperwork i had received and prove how i was supposed to be there 15 minutes earlier. I responded that i am willing to reschedule which did nothing to further the situation. When I asked her why she had ann attitude, she of course denied it saying i was making it up. I walked out. We go to doctors offices of any kind with or with out insurance to seek medical help and they make money off of us. There is no patient anywhere that deserves to be treated poorly when seeking a doctor, especially when you are not that doctor.
