Story

HISTORY:
In 1978 we started as a limited primary care facility. Five years later the clinic was expanded to a full care facility with the addition of a laboratory, radiology department and surgical suite. We soon outgrew the small building and 1992 built our existing hospital - Care Veterinary Clinic. In 2000 the addition of two new doctors required that we expand again. We purchased the facility previously known as Diamond Veterinary Hospital and created Care at the Courtyard Veterinary Clinic. Each hospital now staffs five veterinarians and enjoys full laboratory, radiology, ultrasonography, dental and surgical suites.

MISSION:
"Our mission is to provide the highest quality veterinary care for our patients by informing our clients about the latest in healthcare and preventative medicine. We will strive to help our clients make educated decisions. This will allow them to choose the best care for their pet in hopes of helping them live a longer and healthier life."

Our two dogs fought and one was seriously injured on a Friday afternoon. Our regular vet could not see him. We called all over town, no one could see him. Care vet could not see him at first but they called us back after a few minutes and said they had an opening. They took care of him, explained everything clearly and thouroughly. He was in a lot of pain. They treated his pain first and then examined him. He had a broken leg and multiple puncture wounds. They really care about our pets.

Every single time we have taken one of our loved ones here, they have been treated extremely well and respected. We have had to put a couple down and it was the hardest thing ever, but each time the staff gave us time to be with them and share in the last moments we had with them. They made an extremely difficult situation somewhat bearable. My cat had been attacked by a neighbor's dog very badly. They were able to get him in that morning of the attack, and no one else was able to. They saved his life and gave me about a year longer with him before he had to be put down due to cancer. We also had a German Shepard mix that had gotten himself in a bit of trouble, and to treat him took a few months. We became pretty familiar with the staff as did our dog. In every check up he needed they were always caring and supportive. Thank you Care for always going above and beyond of what is required. You make taking care of our babies very easy.

After being sent out for a surgical consult again for my animals. I called Dr Protor to discuss what my dogs actual diagnosis was and to explain in plain language what the xrays meant. Instead I got a receptionist calling me back to "answer" my questions. After getting upset that the dr or any dr could not take the time to return my call to further explain my dogs xrays, I asked for my dogs records and have since changed clinics. Today I got a form letter in the mail, here is a direct quote of the second to last sentence "This letter does not warrant a visit, a phone call, or any correspondence either via letter or email." This sentence screams .....We don't care about our business or our clients. Being that they do not wish to discuss what the actual problem was they have left me no other option but to leave a review. Never in all my years of running a business have I ever told a customer we do not appreciate nor care about their patronage. We have been brings our pets to this clinic more than 12 years. They seem to be forgetting that most peoples pets are a part of their family and we as owners are our pets voice when it comes to veterinary care. I'm hoping this review makes them rethink how they handle an upset client.

My Princess (APBT) can be difficult - especially when shots are involved. These folk are patient and understanding. Very gentle. Good people.
