Honestly if I could rate this office lower than one star I would. I've seen multiple physicians/nurses in this office over the course of 19 years, and almost every experience has been problematic, but my most recent visit really takes the cake. I've been treated for GAD (an anxiety disorder) and mild depression for some time now through this office. Each physician (namely Kincaid and Kelly Reece) has been more than willing to throw medication at me in order to maintain the illnesses. Today during my visit with Kelly Reece I simply inquired about having my dog signed off as an emotional support animal (which would save me 100's of dollars per year and make my life overall easier) and was immediately shut down. As if her being 30 minutes late to the appointment and being referred to overtly as a "college kid" (which I am not, I'm a 23 year old working LOCAL) wasn't offensive enough, the physician made light of my illness the entire conversation when just moments prior she doubled my antidepressant dose. She offered to get me literature multiple times and was generally dismissive of my inquiry the entire conversation. She mentioned multiple times if my dog didn't "help me get out of bed in the morning" or "take showers" then he didn't qualify (this would be a service animal NOT an emotional support animal--much different thresholds, huge red flag she didn't know what she was talking about). She then abruptly walked out of the exam room and did not say goodbye or direct me to the front of the building at all, I sat there for some time assuming she was grabbing the "literature" she babbled on about while simultaneously ignoring my plea during the appointmet; however, she never returned. It was quickly and blatantly made clear to me that she (nor Kincaid, as I stopped visiting him for similarly offensive comments) does not have the experience or knowledge it takes to treat and I would even argue diagnose mental illnesses. My animal helps me to function daily and feel normal. He is tremendously helpful during anxiety attacks and encourages positive mental health daily. My animal functions as more than just a pet and I feel as though he is a medical necessity stemming from my mental illness. It is unfair for me to have to pay 100's of dollars in pet rent and be unable to live certain places altogether for something that simply makes me feel like a normal person. Again, I was asking for him to be an emotional support animal, NOT service animal. Each and every time I visit this office someone is rude to me. Apart from the attitude of the staff, there are bible verses and prayer request sign up forms plastered throughout the office. This is a private practice, so that is clearly their prerogative, I just wanted to mention something that makes me (and I'm sure many others) extremely uncomfortable. I have avoided switching doctors because of the hassle of it all and in hopes that switching physicians in the office would aid in my satisfaction with visits, but it unfortunately looks like I will have to find another doctors office altogether. I would strongly encourage patients to look elsewhere for their PCP unless they enjoy being condescended and being the recipient of rude attitudes each and every time they visit.
