Always love the Carlisle, well worth the price, but like everything is showing it's age. They have been updating, but I miss the Victorian feel. The original wood ornate architectural balcony railings have been replaced by plain white vinyl. My wife misses the bath tub, replaced with a very nice shower but no more relaxing baths. Artwork with ornate frames has been replaced with no frame photo prints on canvas. My favorite painting of all b.vthat used to hang over the beautiful spiral staircase was long ago replaced by an Amish quilt. The painting now hangs in my dining room, still reminds me of what the Carlisle used to be. If you hurry, some of the original railings are being sold over at Walnut Creek Antiques for a very good price.

We recently spent three nights there. The staff is exceedingly friendly and willing to please. There is a free breakfast in the morning and snacks in the evening. Karen, who attends to the "snackers" in the evening, was attentive to several things I asked. This hotel is a great base to see all of the things that this area has to offer.

Been staying here several times a year since 1995. Exceptionally friendly staff, extremely clean, comfortable and beautiful rooms. Now fantastic shows at Ohio star theatre in sugarcreek. Suits our needs for peaceful getaways.

Just got back from the Carlisle this am. I always wondered what was so special and hard to get a room at this place so when the wallhouse is full they had one room left here. First, let me say the hotel is beautiful! The staff was very friendly the only problems I had is I sat the thermostat for cooler and woke up with our room very hot and for that reason we came home early..plus the rain didn't help but they couldn't control that. My daughter was disappointed there was no pool but was one at their sugar creek location.

Went for our anniversary. Beautiful country side. Lots of food and shopping options.
