The whole family was excited to see this Bakery, and going inside was pretty, looked just like the original location all that was missing was Buddy himself. The bakery goods were great too, just an assortment of cookies and Danishes. Highly recommend.
I was so disappointed with my last purchase! Going to Carlo's Bake Shop for a pastry was always such a treat and for the first time ever we decided to order a full cake from them for my little sisters birthday. Imagine my frustration when the birthday girl requested Vanilla Confetti cake but we received a Carrot Cake instead! A flavor that no one at the party even liked- the cake was basically a decoration that would end up in the trash at the end of the night, no one wanted to eat it and the birthday girl was left without a cake.
Piecaken 5 stars! Pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cinnamon apple cake w/ cinnamon buttercream icing between each layer. Lobster Tails 5 stars! Nutella and traditional I picked up a piecaken for Thanksgiving and it was quite the crowd pleaser. There were lots of desserts but everyone was drawn to the unique mash up that Carlo's bakery created with their piecaken. I also sampled a few of their lobster tails which are sort of like a cream puff. Everything was very tasty. They had a lot of cake and pastry selections. If I lived closer I'd be back more often but sadly it is hard for me to get here so I'll save it for a special treat when I'm in the area.
Small bakery, not variety of items or cakes, some of them are overpriced, customer service good, most of the cakes are delicious, to me the canolies and the strawberry short cakes are the best the cookies actually are not cookies they are like thin poud cake with extra sweet frosting on it, bad location, not close parking around is a nightmare find parking, they open late at 11:00 a.m. I'm giving two stars because they have bad location and not parking. Sorry I Would like to say something better but too many issues
Huge fans of Buddy. Had high expectations. The desserts we got were Okay tasting. Maybe we just got the wrong items. Don’t understand what the hype is all about! The desserts we had were ok. Although for what I paid I did expect more. Probably wouldn’t go back.
This place is fine. I was going to walk past until I saw the beautiful rainbow cake sold by the slice. I was greeted immediately as I walked in, as there was only one other person ordering. I asked if the cake was actually worth trying or if it was mainly for the look, and the girl admitted it was primarily a vanilla cake, but it was really good considering they usually feature different items since vanilla isn't considered anything special. I then asked what they were known for and the girl suggested the lobster tails and cannoli. I got one of each and paused when I was told my total was $20. I noticed the poster of the $25 "Carlos Combo" that I had pretty much gotten all elements for, but was missing the chocolate chip cookie. $5 for a cookie? Nope. The pastries were overpriced, but very good. The cannoli was solid with a delicious custard in the middle, and the lobster tail was unique, flakey, and softly sweet. The cake was better than expected but nothing to write home about; I describe it as "it tastes like what you wish store bought cakes to taste like when you see how pretty it is." While I took one star off for the price, it's a very adequate bakery, but expensive, even for the area, and they sell items that I feel are uncommon, but not impossible to find with the exception of the lobster tail, which was different, but not something I would ever need to eat again. I would only tell my friends to try ONE lobster tail sharable for up to 4 adults, and maybe a cannoli if you love those. I didn't feel oversold, and felt like the baker was honest with me. I also would have taken off another star because of price alone, but I will say: the pastries lasted a day we could only eat it the next day so we put it in the fridge and they provided WOODEN cutlery, and I appreciate any business moving towards less plastic, especially in such a touristy spot.
Nice place, I took the cookies and cream, but the stuffing wasn’t good. The dough was amazing!
Okay tasting desserts, don’t understand what the hype is all about! Most desserts are good, but I surely had better especially for those prices. Should have listened to other people’s reviews about the lobster tail not being good.
I went with high expectations, but was very disappointed. What I ate was not fresh. Rather it was hard and old, it did not taste good. There are much better patisseries like the Danish ones in Solvang, Portos or Tropicana. I will not come back.
The experience was great because we are fans of the show. The baked goods were fine and good. The black and white cookies were my favorite. I really liked the lobster tails. That was something unique I had never had anywhere else. The crunch of the shell was fantastic. The filling was a little wet, but I think it is supposed to be like that. It was really fun. @donutadventurers
