I finally decided to get rid of my hand-me-down bedroom pieces...be a grown up...and buy a matching bedroom set. I headed to Carls and purchased a 5 piece bedroom set. Like a fool, I put 100% down and was told my set was on back order but would arrive within 3 weeks. Not ideal, but I can live three weeks without a bedroom set. At the three week mark, I called Carls and was told that only 2 pieces of my bedroom set had arrived and the rest (bed, nightstand, mirror) would be delayed another three weeks. The dresser and chest were delivered to my home. One of the dresser drawers wouldn't close and four out of the five chest drawers were peeling (as in the crummy glue they used to glue on the faux wood was peeling in the FL humidity). I called Carls and a customer service rep was sent to my apt to fix the dresser drawer--he ended up ordering an entirely new chest for me because it was in such bad shape. I kid not, the service rep not only made two derogatory jokes (one about homosexuality and another about Cubans) but also used my bathroom, didn't watch his hands and then proceeded to remove my clothes from the dresser drawer he was fixing. GROSS. I digress, I received my replacement chest and it had the same peeling issues as the first. I called, once again, to request service on the item and inquire about the delivery of my bed/nightstand/mirror. At this point, it had been 1.5 months since I made the original order....and I was told that it would be another 1.5 months until I received the rest of my order. I was so annoyed that I decided to cancel the entire order. I told the store manager that I wanted my credit card credited immediately for the items that I had not yet received and I wanted the dresser/damaged chest picked up asap. The manager informed me that she couldn't provide any reimbursement (even partial reimbursement for items never received) until the dresser/chest were returned...and even after the return, it would take 3-4 weeks to provide reimbursement. This sort of business practice is simply unacceptable. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. They are thieves. They will take your money and either never give you the items you orders or give you junk furniture.

I purchase a sofa that was advertised on sale in May, it turned out that they did not have it in stock. The salesman told me that in 6 weeks we would have the sofa and I left them a $550.00 deposit. 6 weeks came and left no sofa when I called to find out when it was going to be delivered the same sales guy 3 more weeks and convince me to wait. 3 weeks past no sofa I told him I wanted a refund he said that it would be in by next week. I left on vacation for two weeks and I thought for sure the sofa would be waiting for me. NOT. Spoke to Mgr and office and they said that only have the sofa had arrived and that I needed to wait 1 more week. I told them this is your last chance or I want my money back. Of course the sofa never came in. I called them to give me the credit and the sales guy said he processed it. By this time I did not trust them so I called the office the next day to confirm and they informed me that they take 4 to 5 weeks to return the money. I of course exploded and spoke to CS Mgr who didn't even try to help me and refused to give me the credit, she claimed I should of read the contract on the back. Later that evening we sent emails and blogged about the lousy service, I even called Help me Howard. Next day she called back and finally apologized and issued my credit. We also found out that someone has a class action suit against them for the same type of ordeal. My suggestion to all... When you see a Carls commercial change the channel and if you are by their store, RUN as fast as you can, they suck.... CM

Overpriced there stuff. They add 50% then tell you there giving you 50% off. Wow. No wonder they went out of business
