Asada Nachos, 2 orders of 3 tacos per place Tortitas are ok but not well warm or hot. Some meat was ok but other meats were too dry. It ok to try it at least once but everyone have different taste . Not too expensive thou
Pricy and stingy. I only come here when I have to, otherwise, I’ll go to Irving for better food. Service horrible. I could have sworn the short lady has something against me; never smile, very stingy, but when she serves men, it’s a different other story. But thanks for making skinny both my wallet and body! $10 for burrito with only rice, pinto beans and salsa??
There ingredients are fresh but the gave me raw bacon, how nasty is that. They start mixing the eggs and bacon before the bacon is done. I wish I could scoop out the bacon but it is mixed with the beans. Disappointing because I have had the best breakfast burritos lately like Sams for Play Cafe in Santa Rosaabsolutely the best breakfast burrito and salsa
A-OK is perfect to describe Carmelitas Taqueria. During the lunchtime rush at Noon this is the busiest of all the food options in the UCSF Parnassus Food Court! This even out does Panda Express! And it is probably the most affordable option of all the choices. From burritos to tacos this place is quite good and the queues at lunch are insane. the prices are descent and not overpriced and the food is delicious and hits the spot. I had the lunch special item- Chilaquilles which was a huge portion and came with rice beans salad salsa and a tortilla! super filling and super good - all for only $£5!! I was pleased and so was my tummy. Nachos look quite good. There Tacos and guac re delicious. They even offer soups. This is my favourite Lunch option and with the great prices it hits the spot! Good experience here and will be back for Mexican Lunch Cravings when at this ucsf campus.
Woot woot! First review! I love this place for two reasons! 1. It's across the street from where I work. 2. Nachos! Great cheese sauce! I really like their carnitas. I get it in burritos and on the nachos. It is served to you cafeteria style. There is usually a long line, but it moves quickly. The people here are great too. Overall, this is my "go to" lunch spot!
Great food and service. A lot of food for the money.
Don't ever get their carne asada fries - they use a fake cheese same kind they use on nachos and it just didn't taste that great! I did have a tostada and that was decent. It's the only Mexican food around the area so don't expect very much!
This place has the best Mexican breakfasts in town; think Huevos Rancheros, chorizo breakfast burrito, etc . The same goes for their Chile Rellenos; in fact, these are the best chile rellonos I've ever had. They make them by hand and only on Thursdays, so I always pick up a few to bring home. My friends love them too; they are a staple around my place. I've been eating here for years; this is a family business and these guys work real hard to feed all us hungry folks. I wholeheartedly endorse Carmelina's Taqueria at the food court at UCSF.
Best taco salad I've had in sf. Not too greasy and the steak has a lot of flavor. Burritos are pretty good too!
Carmelina's is cheaply made, yet inexplicably expensive bland-tasting food. Every time I go there when at the UCSF campus, I walk away wondering why I even bothered. I now am pretty sure I got B. cereus food poisoning from them yesterday, and I'm done. It's one thing to be a mediocre-at-best Mexican place, and another to let your food sit out so long that it makes hospital workers and students sick.
