Love the librarians here!!! They are always putting on activities for kids of all ages. My kids are very involved with the chess club. Great neighborhood library!

This is our favorite library, even though it's not closest.  As we homeschool our children, we're at the library several times a week.  Staff are always pleasant and knowledgeable.  They have books, movies, video games, laptop computers, snacks/lunches, and activities for kids of all ages.  They actually have parking that you don't have to pay for, which is not true of most branches of the Carnegie Library.  Since you can easily request any book by phone, in person, or via the online form, I don't see a reason to go elsewhere if you live close to, or in the North Side of Pittsburgh. 

*edit: CLP now has unlimited renewals.  So you can borrow a book and never fear not getting to it on time.  There are also online rentals via the free app Overdrive
