Good take out BBQ and side dishes.  There's slaw, baked beans, potato salad etc. They also have ribs, but have not tried them. Nice to stop in and get quick dinner on the way home from work.

this place is awful.  Walked in and tried to order  sliced beef and links.  No beef and the counter person had no idea what "Links" were.  It is Sausage and they do not have it.  we did the chicken and it was horrible.  Sorry, I am from Texas and comparing it to Virginia

Carter's "Grandma" (tomato-based sauce) family pack is one of our family favorites, and has been for years.  

When we want to treat ourselves to good pork BBQ sandwiches, this is what we get and it is just right for a family of four. Shredded pork BBQ, four buns, baked beans, cole slaw, and corn muffins... at an affordable price. 

While the cooks do not automatically put containers of extra sauce in the bag, when we pick up the order we ask the cashier to do so and they gladly oblige. 

Five stars for the BBQ; just wish that the place was open on Sunday.

However, over the years we have ordered their ribs to go... and the style of ribs they produce is just not our favorite. We like ribs with tons of melt-in-your-mouth meat, falling off the bone, slathered in BBQ sauce too. The ribs we received are always the drier style, where you really have to work hard to get it off the bone. Three stars for the ribs.

Combined offerings get four stars. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. While they have a small dining room set off to the side, we always use their carryout service.

Very good BBQ. Fast service. Affordable. Friendly staff.

Delicious and worth a stop! Enjoyed their Carter's special for lunch. Take away was easy and pretty quick.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ate here 2 months ago and I still can't stand the fact that I threw money away here. Its the worst tasting garbage I have ever attempted to eat. I nearly choked on a large piece of cayenne pepper...not because of the spice but because it was stuck in my throat. Aside from nearly dying from their food, the service sucked. Do yourself a favor, drive 5 min up the road to Cookout and order some BBQ there, its not the best but its 1000x better than this place and without the choking hazard.
