This place is a local legend. I don't know about the "biggest burritos in town" as you can tell in the photos but for the price it's a good deal. Very flavorful and the line during lunch time is a testament to that. They can do better putting everything into disposable packaging though; styrofoam plate, plastic salsa cups all put into a plastic bag. For dine-ins they should give it to you on a proper plate and reduce the waste. I'm not sure why the cashier even bothers to ask if the order is for takeaway. Aside from the homeless dudes taking a bath in the bathroom I recommend giving this place a go.
I’ve driven past this place so many times and finally stopped, so glad I did! It’s the quintessential local restaurant with a walk up window and seating inside or on the patio. The quesatacos birria were amazing, I definitely chowed down all the consommé. They come with chips that weren’t my favorite, but the salsa verde was really good. And the price was right, I’ll be back!
If i could give zero for service and atmosphere i would. The girl at the register did not inform me that a dry burrito only had meat and a few beans with lots of extra onions!! I did not get lettuce, sour cream, rice, cheese, cilantro...but paid full price. Maybe let your customers know if they don't want a wet burrito they will only be getting meat and tortilla basically!! Disgusting dining room where the tablecloths are bleached out from being so old! One lady actually sprayed bleach cleanser on a table that ppl were sitting at..inches away from their faces. The place is trash.
The menu needs a redo, as it's hard to read at night. The service is friendly, but it takes a bit to receive your order, and you gotta pay attention because they don't announce. They could add a few more lights so the place doesn't look like it's condemned from the street. This is the perfect hole-in-the-wall. The prices are very reasonable and the food is amazingly fresh. Highly recommend.
Ordered my burrito dry. I was not informed, nor does it state anywhere on the menu that you will not get rice, lettuce, or sour cream in your burrito!! Why does having it dry make a difference?? Its still the exact same price a lot fewer ingredients! Lots of meat, which was the only good thing about it, but i did not get what i ordered and payed full price. I should have had them remake it properly..but it took over 15 min just to get my burrito in the first place! Please train your cashiers to tell you BEFORE you get your food if most of the ingredients are not included!! Not AFTER !
This place is awesome. When I was young and had nothing this place probably saved my life. I’m talking 32 years ago but I could get a shredded beef taco and a bag of chips and the salsa bar for $1.00 . Today that same taco I would not hesitate to pa $20 . Thank You for being there when I needed you. I’m in Florida for 27 years now but every time I’m in California I have to go there. I compare every salsa to theirs nearly 30 years later
Love the food. I been eating here since early 90's and it's only has gotten better. I love the man that works there his friendly hospitality and welcoming customer service is the best and his voice is one of a kind so if he's there you can't miss it. They care about the food the make and it's temperature and presentation. They also have good weekly lunch specials, one for each day of the week. The also serve good pozole daily and menudo only on Sundays. They've also just recently upgraded and fixed the potholes that were much needed in the parking lot and outside seating area. Enjoy and go experience a little taste of good Mexican food for great prices.
Food is cooked fresh to order. The food tastes okay, nothing to astounding. It could use more flavor. The salsa both green and red were very bland and didn't help add any flavor to the food. We ordered a carne asada burrito it was okay I guess, not our favorite and we also ordered a carne asada quesadilla it was big, it comes in a pizza box that tastes a little better than the burrito because it had Mexican crema and guacamole inside. Our total came out to $22 and some change. I've had much better Mexican food elsewhere. Next I'd like to address the customer service! Not so good. We weren't greeted with a hello or anything and the tone of voice of the cashier lacked compassion. I mean at least fake it! My goodness. She was also on her personal cell phone. Professionalism goes a long way! We have been coming here for years about 9 years to be exact and it's just not the same.
I ordered the chille relleno and it was pretty good, very tasty sauce, freshly made chips with red and green salsa. Looks like this place was a drive-in diner from the Happy Days era.. Plenty of parking, prices are reasonable.
Ordered the albondigas, tortilla chicken soup, beef taquitos & everything was excellent! Portions are great for the money and the food is delicious with all the home-cooked abuelita vibes..most definitely would order from here again!Food: 5/5
