It's a nice nature preserve off the beaten path.  The entire park is well maintained and the trail is nice and exciting.

Castellow Hammock Preserve is a beautiful piece of natural habitat that is near extinct in Miami, FL. This park is a perfect example of what this part of our city once looked like before man came to South Florida and turned it into what is now the Redlands. Surrounded by millions of acres of farmland, Castellow Hammock Preserve thrives with lush hammocks and exposed limestone terrain, giving you a glimpse into the past. Bring some solid hiking shoes that can protect your feet from the sharp, edgy limerock. A perfect place to bird watch, hike and picnic. Try it out! There is a water fountain at the front but I'd still suggest that you bring a bottle of water and bug spray! The trail in and out is about 2 to 3 miles. Takes about 1 if you don't stop much.
