Great state park! Family friendly with 3 playgrounds and lots of walking/biking trails. 3 bathhouses positioned evenly throughout the campground. There is also a store that sells ice cream, snacks, tools, firewood, and rents bicycles. There is a CCC museum across from the store and next to one of the playgrounds which also have multiple picnic pavilions for birthday parties or just a simple lunch. You do not have to stay in the campground to go to the store, museum, picnic pavilions, or trails. The nature trails are beautiful and you will most likely see some sort of wildlife.

What an absolutely amazing state park. We attended today on the advice of many people and were not disappointed at all. The park was clean and well organized. The staff was courteous and friendly. We took a drive through the park and then did only three of the many designated hikes and were amazed at the beauty of the hikes. Each hike had its own theme and each hike was only about 30 minutes long. The paths were well groomed and well marked. We also did the park store and the museum and were impressed with both of them as well. Don’t hesitate to go and check it out. It is amazing. Well worth the $6 a carload. Wow.

The park was great but the cost of the tram was more per person than the Web site states..... NO price break (even though the Web site was different price).....just excuses......recommended taking the tram verses walking......the tram stops and tells you about the area and animals.....Park is huge......you will never have time to walk it all. If you want to see gators we saw everything from 12 inches to 15 feet and bigger.......well worth the admittance fee

The firewood was expensive, the comfort stations are dated, and the sites are kind of open - some man walked through my site and right beside my van, as I was reclined in the back, reading something online; he may have even been watching me, as I don't have tinted windows. The wind was a concern, so I had to keep the fire low, but it may not be a prevailing wind, so I didn't deduct points for that. ;) It might be better suited to RVs, although I still wonder if it is best suited to just an overnight stay.

Presenting Florida as our ancestors found it. Pine forests, spruce swamps, oak hammocks, ancient timber and other environments. Interesting and informative for children and adults. A wonderful way to spend a day.
