You get off the boat and get on the boat here so not a whole lot to say. There's some benches, not many, otherwise you end up standing. There's also a covered area at the side of the dock. It's walking distance to town, probably 5 minutes.

Great boat ride. Takes about an hour to get to Catalina. It is a bit pricy, $75 for two way ticket.

I tried to take advantage of the free ride on my birthday. But something come up and I cannot travel. So I changed my plan and decide just use the free one way ticket. When I first talked to the manager in Avalon ticket window. She said since I didn't travel on my birthday, I couldn't use the return ticket. After a long talk, she agreed and told me I can just pay $5 and change the return date. However, she actually turned back and wrote a note on my reservation saying don't exchange ticket for me. On Christmas Day, when I trying to exchange ticket, I found out the truth and got pissed. I guess it's because the counter staff have to work on Christmas Day, they act very unprofessional. I have to admit that I did yelled and threw the schedules on the floor after a lot of things happened and this is my fault. But they should really try to help at the first place. They refuse to sell the ticket to me even after I apologized again and again. So I have no car, have no place to live and got stuck in long beach on Christmas Day. They called it teaching me a lesson.

Then I did a silly thing on my voucher book, since I really need to travel on that day. They even robbed my voucher book. I know I did something wrong first. But I checked all the agreement for the voucher and have the confidence to say they have no right to take my voucher book away. 

I guess when a business becomes monopoly, this is the kind of service you will be receiving. 

I will find legal help to get reimbursed for all my loss, (business loss, hotel stay, transportation, and etc.) and plus if possible may be get them into an monopoly investigation

One of the major complaints about my time here in Southern California is the lack of an efficient public transportation system. If everything would be as good and efficient as our trip to and from Catalina using the Catalina Express, L.A. would be a much better place. 

We arrived there a little early, and we were quickly processed with the correct paperwork and very few issues. Even the inexperienced travelers who were in line with behind us also commented positively on how everything ran smoothly. And the boat ride itself was without incident, calm and relaxing and cool.

Went on free birthday Catalina Cruise from here. Very clean.
