It was my first time dining at CAVA. I heard my daughters raving about it all the time so I decided to give it a shot. The location is at Little Italy. I don't remember the exact locale. It was early in the morning and I was the first customer. I ordered the Lemon Chicken and Cucumber Mint drink. Honestly I didn't know what to expect. What I got was grilled chicken bits with vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes corn to name a few. Not to my taste. Maybe it's just me. Portion was adequate for one person and I am a huge guy. I mean you got to try it yourself before you judge. I would say it is an acquired taste.
Food is delicious but this place is way too busy. Poor employees are trying to make multiple online orders while throwing together your bowl. I shall go after school around 7:30pm and I’ve always had to wait 15-20 minutes to get my food made. The owners really need to figure out a better system, your employees are doing their best.
The customer service here is horrible. The employees make you feel bad with their attitude and aggression. LITERALLY throwing the food in my bowl with an attitude. Giving one scoop of chicken to people they don’t feel like giving the normal two. Which is extremely bias. You feel extremely uncomfortable to even ask for something else because of how completely miserable they are. One person even yelled at a customer in front of everyone, which made myself and my friends highly uncomfortable. If I could rate this place a 0 I would, food is good but not worth the treatment. The people that work there are so mean, and I’ve never wrote a review before but this one had to be done. If they told their employees to treat the customers with bare minimum kindness, people wouldn’t be so afraid to order.
Tried to get a takeout here today at around 6:30, there was only one man working at the register who was also making orders, so the line took a while. When he took my order, he said “let me check for you” and proceeded to work on other orders. He didn’t get back to me so I just stood at the register, waiting. After he finished the order behind me, I asked if he had taken my order. He said “give me a second, there’s a line behind you, you just walked up here” which I clearly didn’t do. I explained that I was in line but he said to give him some time. After like ten minutes, another staff restocked the item I ordered and he finally made it. My guess is that they were cooking it so I was waiting for that restock. He could’ve told me and I would understand, instead of accusing me of cutting the line. The whole process took 30 minutes, just for me to get a simple pita roll. Maybe staff your stores better CAVA.
Go to joint for lunch - this is like a Mediterranean Subway with better quality and ingredients - assembly line food but actually pretty good. Give it a try! Update - I am changing my review for this location as they are now selling wet and soggy salads. You can literally pour off 3-4 oz of water from the bowl. Yuck. The first time it happened, maybe it was a mistake. But the second time? It’s really gross to eat wet chicken and wet lettuce and all the other stuff they put on there. Quality control seems to have gone out the window and into a lake.
Portion sizes were not.! up to par with other locations. Got like 1/3 a scoop of chicken and when I asked for more, the worker started giving even less of all the other toppings. We pay $15 for a bowl and can’t even get a proper scoop of topping. Felt jipped. Food was good but poor service..!
Wish I could give this zero stars. The service here is horrible. Every time I place a pickup order I have to show up to make sure they make it otherwise they just leave the receipts lying there. They always mix up veggie and meat options so don’t go here if you’re a vegetarian. Always find someone with a runny nose dribbling over your food. And any comment is met with threat of physical violence. Been here multiple times since it’s the only Cava in the area but this branch does injustice to the brand name.
It's sad when you have to be subjected to rude people period. But when you're $uppprting a business, they're beyond unnecessarily rude? Absolutely unacceptable. And to make matters worse, seems like she's the Manager. Screaming across her sweetheart coworkers "just give him the 5c bag so he can leave" rudely in front of everyone. No excuse for this UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. I know there's someone above her, hopefully they'll read this and keep things in order, or remove her from interacting/client-facing. I'm not an advocate for canceling or firing her. Just get her in the kitchen or proper training, so she doesn't test someone else's patience. Luckily it's 60° so nothing is disrupting my great mood. Big up to the GT staff member who appeared more human, sensitive and friendly. The only reason this establishment got more than 1 star.
I was extremely disappointed with their standard between bowls and it’s needed improvement immediately. My husband and I ordered separately but exactly same thing for a Wednesday dinner and I got a totally different bowl from his. There were only our 2 orders when we picked up so the reason wasn’t from the capability of store. Firstly, the portion of my order was much smaller compared to my husband’s and they missed one of my dipping sauce. We both ordered meatball as our protein and mine tasted super sour and salty, but my husband’s was decent. My experience in CAVA was really bad and the only good thing was their app, which was easy to use.
The staff is so so great but so understaffed! I don’t mind waiting but waiting 20 minutes on a Saturday just because there aren’t enough people on staff isn’t right. Otherwise, food was great as always for a quick lunch.
