The Central Connecticut State University Police Department is a full-service police organization providing law enforcement services to all property owned or under the control of the university 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The agency derives it authority through the General Statues of Connecticut and its officers have the same legal authority granted to police officers across the state pertaining to arrest, search and seizure.
The highly trained twenty-three sworn officers take pride in their contributions to the quality of campus life by applying a customer service philosophy. To help ensure the safety of students and faculty, the agency utilizes technology that include, emergency phones on campus; monitored access control systems; closed circuit televisions; centrally monitored fire alarm system; and an emergency notification system.
The CCSU Police Department is a full service police agency whose primary role is to advance the mission of the University by helping to ensure a safe, healthy and stable work and learning environment for the University community. We will carry out the role in a manner that respects and protects the rights of all individuals to learn, create, grow, live and work in an atmosphere of mutual respect. For us, “quality” not only reflects the kind of service we pledge to provide, but also describes the kind of life on campus we endeavor to protect.
