A year before my mother died, we went to tend the graves of her loved ones, buried decades ago.  Two sets of headstones had been defiled, broken, and the brass plaques removed, and the office staff was completely blase.  Then we went to where her father was buried, next to which she had a headstone waiting for her burial.  Her headstone was nearly completely covered by grass that had grown over. Again, the office staff could care less.  Very upsetting to my aged and frail mother!  Very, very sorry to see what a ghetto operation it has become. Truly appalling.

I remember when this place was managed by white people and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, it is now black owned and this place is pathetic. Mud everywhere, building falling down, grass looks terrible.  Its spring and they still have lots of leaves that need raking from last fall. Smh our final resting place should be beautiful not a dump.

I am ashamed to say that I used to work there.  The people that managed the place did the best they could given what little they had to work with.  They owed money to every vendor.  They owed money to the monument companies, Matthews being one of them, and the headstones were being held hostage because cedar park owed them money and they weren't releasing the headstones until they were paid.  These headstones were paid for years ago by the families so when it came time to order them, it became a huge mess.  The place was in financial ruin.  The director they had in charge was stealing from the funeral home she worked at in st Louis.  I have all kinds of stories.  Stay away from this place!

O had not been there in years. I went today,and the roads in the cemetery are in very poor condition. I could not locate the graves I was looking for. I called the office several times for assistance. After a little over an hour I finally just gave up.

These people are crooks!!! Over a year ago we contacted them about having a head stone placed on an existing plot. We live in California and wanted to have the head stone made here. They approved it and proved the dimensions they require. They informed us to contact them again once it was ready and that they would send paperwork to go forward. We had the head stone made and met all their requirements. We contacted them over a month ago to get the proper paperwork handled prior to flying to Chicago. This was time sensitive since they stop placing headstones in the ground in November due to the ground freezing. We literally just received the paper work today informing us that they WONT accept a head stone not purchased outside of their establishment. This extreme "money grab" is the lowest of low. What dispicable people trying to take advantage of a family that is attempting to honor a loved one. It doesn't have to be said that we can't return the already made headstone. They know this. They know what they are doing and if we could fly to Chicago to tell them to their lying faces how disgusting they are we would in a heart beat. After reading about the brass markers being stolen in 2012 and the Cemetary refusing to cover the costs, this makes me seriously question if they had something to do with the stolen items. Their insurance covers these types of damages! For them to tell the families that they had to purchase new markets from them is shameful and a legitimate reason for anyone to question them.
