Story

Central Moving & Storage (CMS) was founded and incorporated in October 1985 by James Fontaine.

James acquired his knowledge and experience while growing up in a family owned moving business that his grandfather started in 1920. In 1977, James moved to Florida in anticipation of beginning his own company. Working for a major van line in Miami, James had the opportunity to move to Orlando and begin what is now CMS. The Company logo was designed and the phrase "Founded on a Lifetime of Experience" became a reality.

Fast, efficient, and friendly.

I will never use this company again.  I used them twice in 6 months.  The first move was a referral from a co-worker.  That move went fine but it was a smal move into a storage unit.  My 2nd experience was not good.  My 42' TV was broken & other pieces of furniture were very scratched up &/or dented.  When I submitted a claim for the TV I was told it was not packaged properly.  I then asked why not & was told that I didn't want to pay for a box.  First, I was never asked or offered that option & second, if I pay $1,300 I expect my TV to be packaged right!  I figured I would not get reimbursed for the entire cost of the TV but to be offered nothing in return but sass & horrible defensive emails was beyond what I would call good customer service.  They lost potential customers because of a TV.  Word of mouth & social media goes a long way & they won't ever get my recommendation.  Bye!!!

We had Central help us unload, uncrate and move into our building a brand new $50,000, 2 ton router and they were incredible. They checked out our location before the equipment arrived to make sure they had everything they needed, brought a sufficient forklift and sent 3 guys. They are total professionals and their experience shows! We will use them again for certain!  --PIP Printing & Marketing

After not being able to obtain the information I needed on their website, I submitted for an instant quote.  Then I received an e-mail saying to call in and get the quote.  When I called, the gentleman was not very helpful.  He lied to me and told me they were required by law to visually inspect the items to be moved and give the quote in person.  Since he would have been the 3rd quote I received in the past hour, I don't find that statement very accurate.  I was not impressed with any interaction I've had with this company and I recommend to anyone that is looking for a good moving company to check elsewhere.  I found a great company just miles away that was very polite and eager to assist me.
