Story

Central Rock Gym, Glastonbury is the largest climbing gym in the greater Hartford area! Our Glastonbury facility boasts more than 21,000 square feet of climbing terrain, ranging from beginner to advanced difficulty. We host climbing for all ages, birthday parties, climbing courses, Boy/Girl Scout training, climbing teams and clubs, local and regional competitions, as well as fitness classes. We look forward to seeing you here!

CRG Glastonbury is a great climbing gym. They offer bouldering, top roping, lead climbing, and speed climbing. On top of all of the climbing, CRG offers a full fitness area, and yoga! The staff are also friendly and courteous.

The bouldering is pretty good, and the selection of top ropes + lead is really good. What makes this place stand out to me is that the membership comes with a wide variety of fitness classes. Something you generally have to pay extra for at other places.

Great gym - lots of climbs all the way from 5.5/V0 to 5.13/V9. Has a sizable bouldering section and a monstrous lead cave right in front of the main entrance. They have pretty much any type of wall you'd want, with slab, cave sections, plenty of vert, and even two imposing arches that typically house difficult lead climbs. The bouldering section has a motorized wall that can move all the way from vert to down past 45 degrees, giving route setters a bit more freedom. The staff is nice and knowledgeable, the hours are generous, and they have moisturizer to use as a salve on your battered and cracked hands after a climbing session. Overall, this is a nice gym whether you are looking to try climbing for the first time, to bring your significant other on a date, or are a hardcore climber who wants the best indoor climbing in the area.

I have been going on my own and the people that climb there consistently ask me to climb with them and once one of the instructor asked me to climb. So, I am just very impressed with the kind culture and the great facility. I Definitely, am addicted to climbing after going to Central Rock.

Great climbing gym! Variety of routes for all skill levels, laid back staff, decent work out equipment, and locker rooms. Membership and day pass prices are similar to industry standards.
