It's the day before my surgery and I had to call and cry and threaten to cancel my surgery before they would tell me the time of my surgery. Seriously? The day before and I can't get the time of my surgery? The admin wanted me to wait for the pre-op nurse to be available to tell me the time because she needed to go over when to eat and drink. Which is ridiculous and has nothing to do with telling me the time of my surgery. I informed her that it was my third surgery this year and I'd had surgery 2.5 weeks ago and I already knew all of that (and she could talk to me about that later anyway). I had to tell the admin it was extremely unprofessional and didn't instill any confidence in me that they knew what they were doing if they couldn't even tell me 24 hours (and was it even 24 hours???) in advance WHEN my surgery was going to be. At that point she gave me a time. I'm still considering canceling my surgery.

I had ACL reconstruction here and I'll say that the facility was nice, clean and my doctors and nurses were terrific. HOWEVER, I recieved a follow up bill on Monday and by Wednesday, they were already calling me asking why I hadn't paid it. Outrageous and very poor.

RATING of the Administration and Billing department of the Center, not the medical staff. The Centrum Surgical Center is a group of THIEVES who steal money from desperate and hurting people right before they walk into surgery. I went for a spinal injection. The day of the injection while I am scared and at the lowest, they make me pay $1,560 as co-pay. The agreed rate of the reimbursement of the procedure with my insurance is $2,260 and my copay is 20%. They made me pay 70% of the entire procedure. When I received the EOB from my insurance I realized they completely overcharged me. When I called their billing department, they kept repeating it is their policy. So their self-written policy is to rob people. Although I told the lady I was speaking with (Cat) that I just had neck spine surgery and was in a lot of pain, and not in my best mood, she kept being so OBNOXIOUS. Although my throat and neck hurt, she kept interrupting me and being unprofessional. I asked to talk to a supervisor, Cat told me she wasn't available, and that I had only two options, either wait a long time on hold, or go to her voicemail. Apparently she had talked to the manager, but now the manager was not available any longer, and she couldn't tell her that was urgent. When Cat transferred me and put me on hold, she told me "ENJOY THE WAIT". Later the manager (Maile) explained to me that they actually thought it was another insurance, so they charged me almost 4 times the amount. So the surgery was $2,260, and the charged me a copay thinking that the surgery was $7,800. Oops! Just a slight difference. Also they only asked me for my insurance card twice and had a week to verify my benefits and get pre-authorized. So either they try to rob the patient, or the insurance. Still their policy is that they pay the patient their money back only weeks later. And I wouldn't be surprised if some patient never got their money back if they didn't ask.

The staff at Sally Jobe Centrum made my experience the best it possibly could have been. Everyone was very kind and patient and friendly and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing this type of attention.
