I think real estate agents that have a personal interest in property should never behave like a stereotypical seller. Said agents/sellers must remain PROFESSIONAL at all times, so McMullen should make it MANDATORY that their agents give their property to someone else to show and sell (a policy and procedure at least worth an inter-office discussion), because when the agent/seller acts like an impatient, dissatisfied seller but is interacting with other professionals in the capacity of a McMullen R/E Agent, that representative of the property mars the McMullen name upon having an emotional outbreak. Let me offer some further clarity. I am a 3rd party who witnessed the following: Said seller, who again was also acting as the agent, agreed verbally and via text to a price and then changed what was agreed, because this agent/seller forgot to look at the other pages of the offer which allowed for a buyer's credit. Thus, this agent/seller reneged and counter-offered. No big deal, but it definitely left the buyer feeling "slighted." The parties negotiated another agreed price, because the buyer understood that a sale for property must be in writing. The McMullen Agent did prove some ineptitude though, because said agent/seller boasted to having "30 years in the business." The sale didn't go as planned, so the seller/agent of McMullen verbally berated the buyer's agent and spewed venom about the buyer's good faith offer. Like I said, I am a 3rd party who witnessed all of this. Maybe this might be somewhat acceptable as the client, because McMullen isn't holding their clients to some professional standard, but the agent was acting as a representative of McMullen, so if this person was working for me, I would WRITE THIS PERSON UP! On a brighter note, having done business with Ray Melnyk in the past as a R/E Agent, I say he is a model sales person who listens for what the customer really wants. He won't just show you a property, because he wants a sale. He did well for a past client of mine.

We recently listed a house for sale or rent with Marybeth Balcarcel of McMullen. We absolutely could not be more pleased with the care and personal attention given by Marybeth through the entire process. We were successful in finding a good renter and are very pleased with McMullen Real Estate and especially with Marybeth, our agent. Thank you!

I have known Debbie Paoli as a friend for most of my life, but never had hired her. However, I found a need for some help from Debbie. I called her, stated my problem, and she immediately jumped into action to get me the answers I need. Her accurate, professional, and detailed work helped me navigate a tricky real estate situation. I did end up with a positive outcome thank in large part to the work Debbie did for me. If you are looking for a true professional, who will work hard for you, listens to your needs, and honestly wants to help - then you cannot go wrong with Debbie. On top of all that, she is absolutely one of the nicest people you will ever meet in your life!

To go to a real estate and find that they have such a dangerous situation as,having a closed off basement to rent of houses, such as possible gas leak or someone breaking into the house;or even the hot water tank pilot light going out.Should be unacceptable to any realtor.Shuttering the attic or basement off as a rental is not a home rental it is a apartment rental, and is dangerous;especially in Chicago.
