I can not described how bad of a job they did on a new construction. The first night we moved in they hot water didn't work. It has not ever worked right since. My parents have lived there seven years and are completely replacing all the the hot water plumbing and the electrical for the hot water heater. I would tell anyone looking for a plumber to move on. Don't waste your time or your money with this company.

My experience with Chaparral Heating and Cooling in Portales, NM was positive  until 2016.  The Tappan Heating and Cooling unit I have was purchased in 2006.  I have requested service calls twice; once in 2010 during which they added freon and checked the unit.  The second time was in June of 2014 during which they replaced the condenser fan motor and capacitor.  

The unit is at present working well, but I called in early April and asked for a maintenance check.  The receptionist informed me that she would see when someone would "have time" to check on it.  I never received a call back.  After two weeks, I called again, only to be told that they were very busy at present, but would "get to it" as soon as they could.  

I have yet to have anyone call or show up.  In my opinion, this is unacceptable customer service.  I will call one of the other cooling and heating companies in town this week.  I will not use Chaparral again.

Based upon prior service, I would have rated the company four stars.  But apparently something has changed within the business and they no longer  feel customer service of value.
