This is hardly a mall anymore. They rarely plow the parking lot, there are only a handful of stores left, and there are a lot of crazies walking around. The employees that work in these stores are great and you do find some genuine people every once and a while, but this place is going under really quickly. There are definitely better ways to make use of the land.

This is a dying mall. The JC Penney here at the center of the mall is still kicking, but both the Sears and Macy's have left huge ends of the mall vacant. The smaller chain stores this mall holds are decent, but better at Summit Mall. They do still have the carousel and a small play area near the food court. In the mornings, especially in winter, you can watch the walkers circuit the mall. One said that if you walk the nooks it's a half mile around once.

Chapel Hill Mall now seems like a ghost town. This mall is almost completely deserted. Very sad to see. Many of everyones once beloved stores are now gone with no new prospects. There are still some great stores that remain, but its not the same. I truly hope one day this mall will come back to life and thrive like it once did.

So sad what has happened to this mall! It's a Spencer's, a Victoria's Secret (and all the other stores they own) and a Penny's and almost nothing else! The Starbucks even pulled out!!!! At least half, if not two thirds of the retail spaces are empty. You only go there if you SPECIFICALLY need a store there, not to spend a couple hours browsing.

Sad to see this place go. It's January 31st and they still have Archie (Christmas Decorations up) and empty kiosks all over the mall. Ceilings are leaking no repairs and 6 more businesses went out this month. Such a loss. Great childhood memories here. 😭😭
