Story

The Central Mosque of Charleston (CMC) is the largest Mosque in the area providing religious services for area Muslims

Mission

The creed of this organization will be: Lai Iaha ill ALLAH. Muhammadun Rasul-ul-ALLAH. This means: There is no deity other than Allah. Allah is the only one worthy of worship, obedience, and submission. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is his messenger and guide to the mankind. The purpose of the Mosque is to serve the best interests of Islam and of the Muslims of Charleston, South Carolina. Towards this end, the Mosque shall aspire:

1. To lead a life according to the principles of Islam as given by Allah (SWT) in the holy Quran and his messenger, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

2. To help Muslims carry out their activities in pursuance of Islam as a way of life. To apply the Islamic principles and practices to ourselves and our children to maintain Islamic heritage for the future generations.

3. Promote unity and joint action among Muslims.

4. Conduct social, cultural, and religious activities in the best traditions of Islam.

5. Arrange and hold congregational prayers and Islamic religious activities at appropriate times.

6. Promote friendly relations between Muslims and non-Muslims.

7. To educate and project the true teachings of the Islam to the non-Muslims and perform Islamic Da'wa, to the people of other faiths.

8. To encourage Islamic education among the members and families of the Mosque.

9 To promote cooperation with other Muslim and non-Muslim organizations.

10. To maintain an Islamic school for children to promote Islamic education and traditions
