Story

As we have entered the 21st century, we realize that the majority of the world’s population lives and works in the “cities.” To fulfill the Great commission, we must have a positive impact upon the city. That impact begins in our own backyards and extends to the ends of the earth. Jesus says (Acts 1:8) that his disciples would have power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Their impact would shape and mold what we know as Christianity.

We realize that to reach others for Christ, we must combine our gifts and talents and share in the common goal of not only reaching the lost but also to grow disciples of Christ. You have sensed the inward call of God and have been sent to become prepared and equipped to contribute to t\the work of Christ – to build His Kingdom. You will become a mentor to others. You are vital to the success of God’s ministry. Yes, you are to be a light of the world and you will shine in such a way that others will see good works and praise our Father in heaven.

The urban ministry program of CCCTS seeks to not only reach the peoples who live within the city but also those who work within the city. We know that we share in the labors of building the Kingdom of God. That takes time, people, resources and God’s blessings. The heart of the city is found in its people and its peoples are found within a walk of life – in the streets and parks, in the homes and condos, in business and industry, in the church and the “store front”. There is much that needs to be done in the city. May we be reminded that God made promises (2 Chronicles 7:14) that God will heal our land if His people, called by His Name, will “humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways.” Your response to God’s promises makes the difference.

As you study at CCCTS, you are going to learn about the big picture of Kingdom building and city living. Know that you will have impact on whole communities. May God open your heart, mind, and soul to the ideas and real-life examples that you will be exposed to during your studies with CCCTS. One by one, as we say yes to God, we become God’s gift to His ministry. To have God-sized impact upon the world, we must unite in love for God and His peoples. Thank you for helping CCCTS embrace the cities of the world as Jesus embraced the cities. .. And many will be added to the Church.

CCCTS exists to prepare Christ-centered leaders academically, professionally and spiritually, in order that they may be equipped to address creatively and effectively the needs and challenges of urban communities and society at large.
