My father has been at Cheltham since 2000. There was problems but if you addressed them with the care takers it was fixed. My mother and I was there quite frequently. The placed since 2000 has doubled if not more. With weather and the number of burials I see their hands are full. Plus when we buried mom on top of dad the ground needed time resettled. It was caving some but they fixed as you brought to there attention. We go on holiday's and Special Occasion and the grass and area is in good condition.

Horrible layout. The organizers of the Christmas laying of the wreaths said you should worship your own feelings instead of any faith you normally believe in. Thousands of people with no direction. And the short lady in the orange jacket giving directions was clueless. Taps was played well, but the colonial soldiers were horrible too. They couldnt understand the difference between "parade rest" and "attention". So sorry my partner was buried here. Someone pais BIG money to lay his wreath. And I never had the ability to see him. God bless you, Thomas.

I came out without an appointment to meet with cemetery personnel to discuss the upcoming interment of my Uncle's ashes. Stewart Ramsey was in the army of Occupation in Japan, and died this March age 88. It was Memorial Day and the offices were technically closed, but the cemetery staff could not have been more helpful. Mrs Johnson guided me through the paperwork and put me in touch with the honor guard and we held the memorial just a week later. Great job.

I visited the Cheltenham Veteran Cemetery for Memorial Day weekend and was very upset and disappointed in the upkeep (or lack of upkeep) of the grounds. What I witnessed seemed to be a poor attempt to make the place presentable. The graves closest to the roads were in better condition than the grave sites off the roads. It looks alright as you ride the road around the cemetery but there is a drastic difference further from the road. There is a lot of high grass, dead grass and clumps of grass in the areas that are further from the road. It clearly shows a rush to try and cut the grass before the increased holiday visits came. This can be prevented with more frequent mowing of the grass. The gravesites that I visited are over on the Frank Tippet and Surratt’s Road section of the cemetery (way off the beaten path). This section was disgraceful. This peak my curiosity so I look at other sections off the road and found more of the same. My friend's headstone was full of dead grass clippings from the poor attempt to cut the grass and not pick up the clippings. I know we've had a lot of rain lately making the grass grow but the grass closer to the roads were rained on too and these areas were not in the same shape. It's in the same cemetery so why can’t the same thing be done throughout the entire cemetery? My point is, this section and other sections are out of direct eye sight unless you venture there on foot. Out of sight, out of mind. This is unacceptable and a horrible way to repay our veterans for their sacrifice and contributions to ensure the safety and well-being of the American Citizen. Where would this country be if our veterans decided to protect us the same way the so called groundskeepers' do their job? Our veterans deserve better! A message to the grounds keepers and especially, the person(s) who manage them, DO YOUR JOB AND TAKE SOME PRIDE IN YOUR WORK! You don't deserve the privilege of caring for our US Servicemen and Women. It's beyond time to look into a total replacement of the staff, starting at the management level through the lowest level of laborer. The current staff is incapable of providing the services needed to take care of our veterans! SHOW SOME RESPECT TO THE US VETERAN THAT SERVE AND PROTECT YOU! You are a disgrace to your profession!
